Is there any particular corporation that is more worthwhile to run couriers for over other corps? The only thing I can imagine is choosing a corporation that has the correct branches rather than mostly kill mission branches (Command, Security) to get a higher amount of couriers. (Note: as well as most likely running for your race as LP rewards are geared toward your race a little more).
Can anyone shed some light on the pros and cons of running for certain corps?

You choose the corp to run missions for based on your longer term goals, what faction do they count for - are the agents located where you want to live or do you mind moving to the agents - gaining standing to lower taxes - gaining standings to access research agents.

Flippant answer: The best corp to work for is the one with agents/stations you want access to...
Use EVE Explorer to narrow down your search for agents you're interested in - e.g. ones of a certain level offering certain types of missions, or ones with particular reseach areas. Or, use it to search for stations owned by corps with facilities you're interested in - refining, jumpclones, manufacturing, etc.
Once you've made yourself a shortlist of agents and their corps, it's a simple matter of working backwards from there to see which ones have the best assortment of agents to get your standings up with. If you can find a corp with a storyline agent, and make sure you work for an agent where that storyline agent is the closest one, your corp standings will go through the roof. You can easily get corp standings to 9.0+ in next to no time if you run missions and storylines for the same corp, and you get a nice chunk of faction standings as well.
