If i buy a corporation when the actual CEO quits the corp and i will be the only member won't the standing of the corp change to mine?
Or will the former standing remain the same ? If another member joins what happens?

The corp standing towards an entity is determined by getting the average standing of all corp members who have a non-zero standing towards that entity. Every downtime, if the corp standing is not equal to the average (the number of members changed or some members gained/lost standing) the current corp standing will shift towards to the average by a percentage. It will take some time before the standings have moved to the average completely.
When you buy a corp with standings one of two things will happen - assuming that the person who raised the standings left the corp and you are the only person to join:
1) If you have standings, the corp standings will start to shift towards your standings at the next downtime. This means that you'll lose the high standings and the benefits they give. It also means that until the next downtime, you can make use of the high standings. Note you only need the high standings to anchor a control tower; once the tower is anchored, it doesn't matter what your standings are and you can add or remove other POS structures or put the tower offline/online. 2) If you have no standings at all, the high corp standings will remain since there's no new average to move to. Note that you can have non-zero standings which are rounded down to 0 - they will count in these calculations.
If more than 1 person joins, the standings will move to the average of all members, assuming they have non-zero standings.

If you have any faction standings, yes.

Edited by: Tamia Clant on 07/06/2008 23:15:26 One thing to note is that there is a mechanic in place that makes the standings stop updating about after a week. Once that happens, one of the corp members will have to run a storyline mission and complete it to get the standings to start updating again.
So basically, if you can make sure the standings are not updating, and don't have anyone running missions, you'll be able to keep your corp standings up for an indefinite amount of time.

Edited by: Estel Arador on 08/06/2008 10:30:26 Again, only non-zero standings are taken into account when corp standings are calculated. If you and noone else in the corp have no faction standings, no changes will occur in the corp faction standings.
If you have corp standings but no faction standings, there will be changes in the corp-corp standings (only those you have standings with) but not in the corp faction standings.

I never tried but I would say so. IMHO it's quite unlikely that the mission itself is triggering the standing thing at DT. The change of faction standing should do it. And therefor a COSMOS mission should do as well.

They do, I have personally tested it. Note however that only the last COSMOS mission in a chain will trigger the standings update, as only the last mission changes your faction standings.

Right-click the standings and select "Show Compositions". That window updates every day, while the standings tab is dependant on your cache, I believe.
