I have mixed opinions on most of this stuff, however it's certain that the Caldari's bonused damage type is the weakest of the bunch, averaged out it'll do the same as thermal against armor but only half as well against shields if anything needs to be changed it's that the only race to have to put up with just a single damage type being bonused on a signifigant number of their ships gets that bonus on such a poor damage type. |

the amarr tech 2 khanid ships only get bonuses for CLOSE range weapons, that's why there's no damage type specific, to make it more balanced, when caldari ships have the damage type specific bonus but can use CLOSE range and LONG range missiles. |

No, they are not.
Caldari specialize in long range combat, their ships often have optimal, missile velocity, and missile flight time bonuses.
The Khanid are to Caldari missiles what the Gallente are to Caldari Hybrids.
The only thing of issue here is that they quickly realized removing the EM specialty from Khanid ships was a good idea, but never applied the same logic to the Caldari ships.
