Edited by: Fastercart on 09/06/2008 23:40:29 You can watch the Fanfest video at Alliance Panel at Fanfest. The RP representative starts at around 14 minutes into the video. I never caught his name, but he was from PIE, inc, same as Radj. And, I agree that he was entertaining.
Btw, your volume mixing was spot on in this podcast. I understood mostly everything within the margin of error for my hearing. No complaints on that front. Please continue what you're doing with your volume mixing.
However, I did notice voices becoming modulated at some points. When I say modulated, I mean it sounded mechanized. Like something went wrong during the encoding. I didn't notice this in your last podcast. It's especially noticeable Radj's interview. A good example of what I mean is at 65:30 to 65:35 from the start of the mp3. It didn't make the voices harder for me to understand and it's not really a problem, but just thought I'd point it out.
Or...Do the Amarr just sound like Transformers?(:
Oh, throw back from the last podcast, "That's some pixels." (: Great job guys. I enjoyed the opening bit. (: __ Rorqual AKA Mega Maid

Another excellent podcast.
Great interview with Zulupark.
Good to hear Rodj Blake, as well. (Pod him in-game; buy him a bree irl. PIE are good peeps)
While discussing the exclusion of alliances, I think Rodj missed mentioning a major part of why the RP alliances got a bit bent out of shape.
Back in December of '07, CCP put out an in-character call to test the basic mechanics for what we'd all be waiting for. Factional warfare. The testing was done live on Tranquility.
Minmatar, hepl!!
Amarrians, hepl!!
We (and opposing alliances) spent almost six months (as alliances) seeking out the factional complexes. Finding them, going in to destroy, preparing to defend, collecting various objects, providing feedback, and winning/losing fights in lo-sec pvp (against both warring RP alliances & corps, as well as anyone else who happened to be in the area).
That's a lot of time, effort & ISK spent on testing the whole shebang on a live server.
Sure, we had a good lot of fun with it... but there was also a lot of expectations that came with that.
Initially it was a swift kick to the balls, deciding to exclude alliances. Especially when it had been the RP alliances who had been asked to test it all out. (Also RP corps. Not discounting them at all; just saying that many alliances were involved in the testing for a looooong time, on top of the the past few years that Rodj talked about)
I think we all see the sense in why it is the way it is now; and alliances have made suitable adjustments.
Just saying that it caught us RP-alliances blindsided, given the investment we put into actively playing with the mechanics (as we were asked to)... and then suddenly being excluded.

Yes, that's what a night of drinking does to you. :D Was still working on coffee #1 that morning, I'm amazed there was any coherency at all there.
Thanks for the comments, all. Doing interviews is a blast, we like to do them as often as we can. It's better to have a reason to do an interview though, rather than just doing an interview for the sake of doing it. Hence, the expansion gave us a great opportunity.
I'm also not discounting the possibility of a followup to these, when the patch dust settles and everyone's had an opportunity to form an opinion of the finished product. Also, harpoon some players who've been immersing themselves in the new content, get their impressions.
Lots of ways to go with it. :)
