Hello,
I am trying to find out what ship would be best for moving small amounts of cargo solo. I am looking at max 1000m3. Mostly lowsec but perhaps a bit of 0.0. If it can use cloaks that would be could, do you warp cloaked?
My only concearn is sometimes a solo Oynx pilot instalocks me and I wish I had a way of somehow eliminating his ability to lock me, perhaps ecm or neuts but the haulers I am looking at lack fitting ability. I could use a scout but I do not want to buy another account and I do not want to use trail accounts either.
What ship is best suited to hauling small amounts of cargo solo without "I-See" cheats such as scouts?

i like bloackade runner but it gets locked by Oynx pilot who always likes to camp my route. He can see on scanner sometimes while I am mid warp so he knows when to show up
I am just looking for something that I can use to counter him, but actually be able to run 1 man blockades

If you want to warp cloaked and have 1000m3 of cargo space, your best bet would be a cargo-expanded force recon. A Pilgrim with 5 EC IIs would have a 1061m3 cargohold, but it would handle like a schoolbus.
Honestly a scout(or several) is the best way to go. I prefer to use real flesh-and-bone people as opposed to dual-boxing with an alt, but to each their own

I prefer a blockade runner speed fit for small items. Well fitted and skilled you can get around 3800m/s. With the two built in stabs you can get away from a HIC easily or the speed can get you back to the gate if it's a large gate camp.

I try nano ship and hic scramblie it. hic has built in scramble power of 9000 so +2 wcs bonus does nothing.

yes Pilgrim seems to be a good hauling ship for me then. I will try it. I thought EC II makes no difference to agility, but I can stick a mwd and agility rigs on it. Will the oynx pilot see me on scanner if I warp cloaked?
Also if I get tackled by the oynx pilot, can I ecm and neut him to get away? What drones should it use?
Thanks as this has got me excited. I never had a hauler that could actually bloackade run without cheating (alt scout) before.

If you warp into his bubble and he is soloing you can easily make the gate before taking hardly any damage. If you jump through and he is setting on the gate you can get out of the Focused beam in just a few secs.

Just ran my Viator through a solo HIC in lowsec 2 roundtrips without a problem. He put the focused beam on me and I was out of it's range in about 6 secs and only at 70% shields.

I woulnd't call scouting cheating (a bit if it's done with 2 accounts ;) )
ECM isn't a bad thing against this type of ship, as he needs to have a lock on you to scramble you using a focused script. Besided, does he get you when you're trying to warp off or do you (god forbid) travel this route using the autopilot?

(rifter + cyno) + (redeemer + cargohold)
gets bast gate camps every time, but you might loose a couple rifters. -------------

Edited by: Jenny'' JoJo on 09/06/2008 21:40:09 Thanks.
The Redeemer looks like a good way but its too expensive for me. Am I right in saying the redeemer can warp cloaked and rifter is a scout?
I will train up for pilgrim to blockade run. Thanks for all your advise.

#1 - Scouting is not cheating...if scouting is cheating then what would you call ambushing and killing a defenseless hauler?
#2 - The Pilgrim can be fitted with 5x cargo expanders T2 and haul more than 1000m3, without losing the ability to field ECM drones (or even fighting drones) and a NEUT or so for defence, along with a respectable shield tank. It's rather slow with that fitting, but you can rig it with low friction rigs etc to make it faster, or cargo rigs to haul even more.
#3 - Regular Cov-op frigates, like an Anathema or sth can also be fitted with cargo expanders and carry a bit of cargo around in 0.0 or low sec. Faster by all means than the pilgrim, easier to train for and cheaper.
#4 - Blockade Runners = T2 indys. Those can be fitted to align almost as fast as a ceptor, use a 10mn MWD (apart from the crane this fits easily) and move around some times more cargo than a Pilgrim. No Cov-ops cloak, so no jumping around un-seen. Still you can fit an Improved Cloaking Device II and gain a lot of survivability against medium sized / low skilled gate camps... Edited by: KISOGOKU on 09/06/2008 22:20:02 No it cant warp cloaked but it can jump from a system to another system like a capital ship.Youll need another person with cyno field theory 5 and covert cyno field fitted covert /recon /black ops pilot.Covert cyno field generator can only fitted to covert/recon /black ops ships . Edit:difference between covert cyno and reguler cyno is beacon ,covert cyno is not visible
