Hello, my question is regarding the two Tengu Propulsion subsystems Fuel Catalyst and Gravitational Capacitor.
My purpose is PVE exploration. I know speed will be vital for evasion and damage mitigation; however, I do not see the need for the Gravitational Capacitor if its bonuses only affect the main warp drive. The additional 15m/s base speed of the Grav Cap would add up with afterburner/microwarp drive percentage boost, but the Fuel Catalyst's 10% to afterburner would make up for the speed difference when using afterburners.
TL;DR: Does the Tengu Propulsion - Gravitational Capacitor bonus affect microwarp drive speed and capacitor use or only the main warp drive? And do people use ABs or MWDs more often for Tengu exploration (4/10 DED) and Lvl 3/4 mission running?

The warp speed one is best if you are blitzing level 4 missions, as the AB speed won't make your tank any more effective and getting in and out missions quickly = more ISK. It does apply only to your warpdrive, not MWDs.
Other than that, I'd lean towards the Fuel Catalyst to improve your tank via faster AB speeds. |

For PVE id suggest the Fuel Catalyst so you can fit a 10mn AB and use a smaller booster, letting you fit more launch rigs |

Warp speed bonuses ONLY affect the speed when you have reached the maximum warp speed. It is very rare that thie will remove more than a second or two from overall warping speed since you spend most time in warp accelerating and decelerating.
If you are in the system with VERY long distances like 100+ AU then you may save a bit more but AB will give you more tank if you keep it on all the time so IMHO it's much more effective. |
