Well today marks the 2 week anniversary of Duke DroklarÆs infamous declaration of war. So in between their forum taunts of ôWelcome to Hellö, and their colorful language in local I thought we could recap what has happened up till now.
As most probably know it started off like we expected it to. A C4 force consisting of frigates and cruisers was sent to Fountain, and quickly destroyed. Not wanting to wait for ages Xanadu and Finfleet visited their stations in Delve and along with CFS moved into Paragon soul. In about 3 days of fighting 11 C4 battleships were downed in conjunction with Xanadu forces, while losses where minimal (1 Raven pilot whose ship was replaced by a captured C4 raven and a Finfleet megathron). ThenàC4 disappeared. It could be argued that they flew back to CA space to help defend their other alliance, or that they simply couldnÆt handle the pressure in Paragon Soul. Either way, our pilots stood in abandoned space and had nothing to shoot at.
This was soon solved though when OC pointed out a deciding factor.
Originally by: Duke Droklar
Attacking C4 is attacking CA. C4 corps are member corps of the CA.
So Xanadu decided to follow them into Curse space. 2 days, several captured stations and 10 downed CA battleships later we encountered the first C4 resistance. It consisted of a blackbird pilot from Black Omega who jumped in, got scrambled, ejected, and warped off in a pod. Puzzled, we flew on (with a new blackbird that is). Taking over another station and killing off a few more locals we noted a large blob forming in HLW. Scouts reported it to be a large force of mainly C4 frigates and cruisers. Wondering if they would follow us we moved even further into the depths of CA space continuing our routine of taking over their stations and blowing up the local CA pilots. Yet this time it became apparent that we had gotten the attention of the hornets nest.
They were large and fast, and followed by a formidable fleet of RUS and other CA battleships. Considering the size of their fleet compared to our small taskforce and the fact that itÆs net worth was somewhere around 10 million isk, the decision was made not to engage. This turned out to be a smart move considering local soon swelled up to 63 people from its original 12. Having reached the magical 5-1 ratio, the previously totally uninvolved C4 fleet started smacktalking as if there was no tomorrow. Questioning us to why we hadnÆt killed any C4 this week, why we wouldnÆt engage and later on questioning various other totally eve unrelated things made us start to wondering what kind of kindergarten we had stumbled into.

Time passed and in the morning hours of Sunday we watched the C4 and CA fleets leave the system. Word was that the C4 fleet was going to attack Fountain via Delve, while the CA fleet would stick behind. The remaining Xanadu taskforce headed back in the direction of the refining station to reclaim the later, picking off a CA tempest on the way. Once there another 5 CA battleships were dispatched. This ôSunday Bloody Sundayö went on to culminate into 14 enemy battleships going down at the hands of the Xanadu fleet with uncountable numbers of frigates and cruisers doing the same.
Yet the Ironic thing is.. that none of them were C4. Infact of all 29 Curse battleships Xanadu killed in the last 3 days, not a single one belonged to the C4. Ever since the first 13 C4 battleship kills we have seen them in nothing but frigates and cruisers. Akin to a flock of poverty stricken homeless, roaming around in shopping carts sporting infected needles, the C4Æs delusional leader declares one war after the other, while their benefactors bleed.
But why arenÆt they fighting the wars they declare? Have they gotten sick of defending their homeland? Do they actually think ganking indies in Fountain is going to save the battleships of their allies? Will they ever actually invest resources into this war? Do they actually have any resources left? Why does Reverend NecroÆs hell serve co.cktails with little umbrellas ontop? Are ATUK, Evol, or m0o having more luck finding these elusive creatures?
Questions upon question.. yet finally IÆll end this in good olÆ Duke Droklar style:
41 of your battleships down, Xanadu has lost 4 (+ 3 FA in your frigate invasion if not mistaken)
Keep on smacktalking, weÆll keep on reducing you and your allies into spacedust.

Brilliant work xanadu and FA.
I don't know about atuk/m0o/evol but I was able to watch celestial apocalypse in action over the weekend.
The result was alot of CA ships destroyed and 1 friendly BS loss (as far as I know, dunno about last night as Celest's website is down).
Keep up the good fight! dbp

C4 declared war on the boards and failed to back it up ingame. This is the first thread from us on that matter. But it sure hurts...

Edited by: Shadowthrone on 10/05/2004 11:40:51 Curse alliance are certainly feeling the pinch. Celestial Apocalypse has downed near 30 Curse battleships in its 1 week renewed Great wildlands offensive. The Darklord himself even lost his scorp to our forces. Losses have been low with 1 Celest tempest taken down and RKK lost a Scorp.
On the plus side, our respect for the curse alliance has greatly multiplyed. There has been NO smak talking at all. Local has been polite mature and friendly. Curse are fighting us outnumbered and outgunned. Looking forward to more fights.

Well, you are right. CA/C4 is fighting severely outnumbered in most cases, but is FAR from beaten. In fact CA/C4 fighting spirit is higher than ever before.
As in regards to smack talking the only ones I've seen/heard smack talking (with the exception of the smack talk mentioned in the Xanadu statement (which was apologized for to CA/C4 members, but not to FA)) has been from m0o members bragging they got spies in CA plus general taunt (of course this taking place when sitting in safespot/station out numbered (Omniwar and Teelmaster for example).
CA/C4 are making an effort to keep smack talking as low as possible (even though itÆs difficult not to when traveling a long distance and then to see the enemy log off or safe spotting until they got superior numbers).
I suppose threads like this is not exactly encouraging a civil behavior as the thread it self is a taunt and a form of smack talking which easily flows over into the gameà

Actually, though I couldn't believe it, I saw ~10 C4 battleships in u-qvwd yesterday.
Needless to say though, they had 30 frigates placed between their battleships and SA forces, and it's not a hard guess to make that they had frigates in the other directions too to warn them about any ATUK/EVOL comming from Curse.

You mean when you send 30 frigates to attack 5 enemy pilots? Good thing it's easy to spot CA blobs even without inside info

Edited by: Temujin Destovai on 10/05/2004 12:02:22 In regards to smacktalk its been moderate and extremely relative to who in Curse we are fighting against. Most of the CA corps themselves are actually very civil (RUS and Co.) while ex-FE and some of the C4 members (mostly OC) have been beyond vile. Most of them are in no way fit for these forums and in so many aspects OOG that its pretty unbelievable that any of them are older than 14.
Luckily we dont fight too many of the later bunch because in addition to being immature beyond belief, they are also cowards.

As for CA/C4 denying numbers I do not have any of the stats myself, but I am sure some form of reply will come...
As for my comments they are in relations to lower the amount of smack talk in the game (please dalman do not comment on this humble attempt)...

Edited by: Reiisha on 10/05/2004 12:31:25 Well, even those frig fleets seem to not be able to catch much these days.
I was sitting in a safespot with my megathron to wait for CA/C4 to leave the system so i could change ships and buy some skills. When they were gone, i started to head to the next gate. Came there, couple of hastily jump and warped in frigs and a few bs locked me. I jumped to the next system. Wapred to next gate, frigs warped in, 10 seconds later i warped to a moon.
Came to the moon, frigs came, had to turn 180 degrees for the next warpable, they didn't manage to lock me, next moon. Frigs followed, didn't manage to lock me, warped to safe spot.
I mean, guys, if you use frigs, make sure you can lock and scramble faster than 10 seconds. I didn't even have any warp core stabs

Well, if I remember correctly it was quite late at night (for Euro anyway) as you were still sitting in a safe spot at the time I logged and perhaps the frig pilots in question was tired too.
One factor too was that Catch was very laggy yesterday so there could have been a few sec of frozen screen etc.
Anyway one should not judge all because of one instance (not excusing the failure to catch up with you, just giving it some thought)....

Strange, the people i have killed in Fountain started talking and were the only one's talking in local and everywhere else.
Thanks for the 30mil loot and 300 cruise missles btw, not bad for 500k in gear.
That battleship we didn't catch was truely unbelievable, no excuses for it, we should have had it. But then again the kills we had on the Xanadu battleship who was camping the gate in his megathron was kinda funny. BTW you don't find C4 because your looking in spots where people mine, you don't find us there... We are at the war front, and thats not the location where people log off when they see fighters comming. __________________________
