My plan is to export models and textures from triexporter into 3dsmax, and then port it to the unreal tournament 3 engine map editor. i want to be able to use the 3d structure of the ship and textures to create lifesize version of the ship and subtract mass inside to start creating the interior for map work and cinematics. aswell as if i wanted a cinematic of the entire ship crashing, i can control the whole thing, people inside included any thoughts and any help will be greatly appreciated for my upcoming project |

ive seen clearskies and thats what spawned my creative mind. Im fairly certain he used half-life's "gary's mod" for the characters to allow them to interact in such a way with the world. i have triexporter for the eve models, im waiting for 3dsmax to be shipped to me and getting the maya character creation tool soon. One of the sweetest things thought is the only program i could find so far to animated characters in the unreal 3 engine is an older program to one currently being used to create ccp's in station character models. so i may be able to import characters soon (granted i still have to learn this program yet im focusing on the unreal 3 engine just now) as to ccp game models, i dont need them but if im allowed to use them and can get them, would make my work alot easier and faster. pre made ship exteriors all i have to build is the inside :D |

CCP ENLISTS NATURALMOTION'S morpheme ANIMATION MIDDLEWARE FOR EXISTING, FUTURE MMO TITLES
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - February 20, 2008 - NaturalMotion, Ltd., developers of the highly-acclaimed euphoria and endorphin 3D motion synthesis technologies, announced today that CCP has licensed the morpheme animation middleware and will be integrating it into smash-hit virtual world EVE Online and upcoming unannounced projects.
"Deeply immersive visual experiences facilitated by high fidelity motion graphics are the hallmark of our virtual worlds," said Thor Gunnarsson Vice President of Business Development at CCP. "As a valuable addition to our technology arsenal, morpheme will support CCP's drive to deliver vivid expressiveness to the avatars populating EVE and yond."
morpheme is robust animation middleware designed to give developers and animators unprecedented creative control over the look of their final in-game animation by allowing them to author and preview blends, blend trees and transition graphs in real time.
ôCCP has shown that they have the ability to take virtual worlds to new places,ö said Andy Payne, NaturalMotionÆs VP of Sales, Europe/Asia. ôWith NaturalMotion and the morpheme technology, CCP will be able to blaze even more trails through the MMO space.ö

You may find you have scale issues. The ships in EVE seem quite large relative to character sizes -- fitting them all into Unreal while keeping appropriate resolution may not be possible. Interiors may need to separate rooms. Only parts of ships may e able to be exteriors. Might want to check it out. |
