Great RP story line except for one thing. while some people are moaning about the Caldari waltzing into Gallente space so easily, my gripe is with the timing of the militia thing. why, after CONCORD have 'restored' reactionary responses to aggression, would they approve the Militia BillNews? If this had been a response to the loss of their HQ as an assumption that they would not be able to regain control it would have made sense, but it was added so late on that it doesn't work as a plot twist surely? Everyone had retreated (except for the force over Caldari Prime) and everything had pretty much finished when CONCORD say, 'yeah, sorry we lost control, Jita got smashed, Gallente got invaded and the Amarr/Minmitar thing kicked off but we aren't going to do anything about it, oh and start some militias so you can do it again on the sly...'
Did I miss something?

Is there a chronologically accurate index of all these news stories?
The RSS feed, the news center archive, the downtime news site and even the first post of this thread all have the stories posted out of order. Even the time stamps are wrong! There are two stories "reacting to" one attack posted nearly half an hour before the first report that the attack was happening in the first place.

Logically, people would not be "taking to the streets" to watch news of an event twenty minutes before anyone knew the event had happened.
The news center chronology is just completely scrambled. The downtime news page is closest to accurate, but still wrong. I found other stories posted out of order and it makes for very confusing reading.

Edited by: BRUCELLA 2 on 11/06/2008 21:52:58 I think you forgot this one before :
Quote: REPORT: Minmatar-Thukker Armada Invades Ammatar Mandate
Jarizza û Minmatar-Thukker warships have just engaged and destroyed several Ammatar Fleet patrols in the Derelik Region. It is unknown if these ships are part of the same task force which just destroyed CONCORD Bureau Station in Yulai. The unprovoked attack appears to have completely caught the Ammatar Fleet by surprise, as no organized resistance has been reported thus far.

That's why Minmatar populace takes to the streets, i think... no ?

This piece precedes the other three you mentioned.
The third article: 13:05 BREAKING NEWS: Minmatar-Thukker Ragnarok Titan Jumps into Jarizza, Dropships Reportedly Landing on Halturzhan
Was regarding the planetary invasion of Jarizza, some time after the initial assault in the system.
Unless I've missed something, the articles you mention are in correct chronological order. |

Edited by: Quahodron on 12/06/2008 08:54:14 That Leviathan should retreat from Luminarie altogether with all Caldari ground invasion troops. Otherwise it is clear that Concord has definately become Amarr-Caldari puppet and therefore must be banned from both Republic and Federation.

The Capitiol of any nation is coveted and protected insansly above all else. your telling me a single. SINGLE Titan supported fleet was able to entire the Gallente capitol system when there for sure be a titan or two in the capitiol system. I mean look at the larger alliances. Most have 4-8 titans with dozens of support carriers, moms and dreads. So basically Bob with its 8 titans has the military might to come in and crush all the empire nations is what you are saying?
2. The Caldari navy just happened to have a titan supported fleet ready to assualt the Gallente while the Concord was shut down? Not possible. It takes days, for the larger alliances to assualt each other and we don't have to prepare ground troops. I can personally vouch that it takes months to prepare a single division for a deployment. So only way this would work story line is if the Caldari partoke in the assualt on Concord, but it didn't in the story line. Plus if it did, Concord would so light the flames of wrath under their a$$'s.
3. By that Caldari Titan remaining around Caldari prime, it is in violation of Concord mandate. Begining of quote
TO THE MILITARY FORCES OF ALL NATION-STATE MEMBERS OF THE CONCORD BUREAU ASSEMBLY:
CEASE ALL NON-SANCTIONED COMBAT OPERATIONS IMMEDIATELY.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS MANDATE IS PUNISHABLE WITH DEADLY FORCE. DED AND CONCORD COUNTERTHREAT DEPLOYMENT CAPABILITIES HAVE BEEN RESTORED.
REPEAT: CEASE ALL COMBAT OPERATIONS AND FALL BACK TO RECOGNIZED TERRITORIAL BOUNDARIES.
end of quote. Since Concord just got restored, it hasn't had any time to recognize anything, and therefore techinically. That titan remaining in orbit of Caldari Prime is in violation of that mandate.
Are you some sort of ******? To assume there's standing military around the nation's capital is one of the dumbest things I've seen on the internet, and that's saying alot. Are there tanks sitting around Washington waiting to defend against invasion?
Your second point, you're assuming that the Caldari started prepping their attack as soon as Concord went down. This is an equally ******** statement. Ever considered that, I dunno, the nation had a standing military, and that it saw concord going down as a viable opportunity? Didn't think you did. Dumbass.
Your third point doesn't make sense. You think it's impossible for one organized body to disobey another? ... I seriously cannot comprehend how you can maintain motor functions while being so stupid.
Great job devs, I loved the writing. |

Huh man calm down. There`s no need for such an anger. I agree story is really awesome but that guy also made few good points, in RP terms.
First, of course you won`t see tanks and heavy artillery visibly deployed on the approaches to the capital, but actually there are A LOT of troops stationed in military bases and airports around, ready for rapid reaction if necessary (especially airforce). Check out the Washington DC military district - just for example.
Second, it is expected that large OFFENSIVE military formations will have to spend some significant ammount of time in preparations before moving to enemy territory. How long did it take for US army before invading Iraq? Besides, you are also contradicting yourself there - if both factions have standing military, then tell me why would one side be able to react immediately to Concord`s fall and commence powerfull attack, while the other won`t do almost nothing about it, even in the heart of its own territory?
And third, since Concord is back to track and if they said that all parties involved in fights should return to "their recognized territorial boundaries", but in the same time we have Caldari Titan in Gallente space, how to explain that? Concord is too weak? Concord favors Caldari over other factions? Concord recognize Caldari aggression as a legitimate action?

wow Azrael Eos. just wow. The reason I'm such a nit picky person is I'm a anylst. A retired military anylst that used to analyze information for division commanders. Loved my work, but after talking to the GF, decide it was time to retire, and maybye get married... dang women ruining the fun things guys can do... >.< And you'd be suprised by the army/naval/air defence washington has.
And the prep for the invasion of Iraq was a couple of months, gotta love the discovery channel.
And true, its possible for one organized organiztion to disobey another, but being able to and surive the results is another. Sudam invided Kuwait despite UN mandates to leave, he stayed in Kuwait. After a deadline passed, he got whooped hardcore style.
Besides. The Federation had naval ships on the border. heck it was doing a large scale operation. http://myeve.eve-online.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=2034&tid=3
Yet in blog http://myeve.eve-online.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=2114&tid=4 only custom ships are lost. This comes to the constiancy issue I have. and I'm not the only who has it. I liked the story line, the amarr one I enjoyed theory. I want more of that.
So ISD Tsuki Kiyuu or ISD Dogal. Are we gonna have these inconstancies fixed? Is somebody gonna be made aware of them?

It was like someone ignored all the past history and just wrote what they thought would sound good even though it makes little sence. Can someone explain how the elders who died 150years ago without a way to clone are now alive today leading fleets? The Thukker and Nefantar elders should be long dead after being executed in prision.
The dead Elders come out of nowhere to lead a fleet that came out of nowhere to have there large 100+ cap fleet is beat by 12 battleships piloted by another person who came back form the dead. Surly I am not the only one who sees that as very poor writing.
Far too many dead people came back alive with any explanation or reason. I hope I can take all this back after reading the noval but as it stands now, the story was very poor full of things that just couldnt happen.

Yes, there actually are tanks sitting around Washington, along with quite a few troops and aircraft of all sorts. Just because they aren't parading down the streets every second Tuesday of every third month, doesn't mean they aren't there. You have heard of military bases, right?
As for your second point, don't you remember how long the build up to Iraq took? It took the most organized, most mobile military of all time months to get set up for an invasion. And all they had to move was a few thousand miles, the Caldari had to move a few dozen light years. But for the reason of a pretty good story, I'll suspend disbelief and allow that the Caldari State was able to amass that kind of force, prep it for invasion and keep it secret for a good deal of time.
I really think you shouldn't be so quick to rail against some one else's intelligence.
