Which one would you fly, taking cost/quality balance into account?
How would you fit the Stabber? (I'd ask for the vagabond but I already know the fittings :P)
Pros and cons of each? etc.
Thanks.

I can tell what vaga has that stabber doesnt.First, it has falloff bonus, when u re flying nano ship, u need to be far away from webs, for stabber u need to put ambit rigs. Also, vaga has better dmg(its dmg is not so great compared to other hacs, but have rof and dmg bonus, while stabba have only rof).Vaga also have resist bonus which stabber doesnt. So all in all, i would fly vaga, if skills are not problem.I dont know how much stabber cost, but i guess its price is not so different then hac's cost. |

I'm not entirely sure. They seem to have restored some flexibility to the stabber family with this one. The stabber itself is a big tackle frigate, it's only got a few valid variations (and these are more variations on a theme than true variants). The vaga is THE nano ship. Again variations on a theme. This new one however looks to be quite flexible.
Looks like you could realistically armor tank it. It could be a nice artillery gank ship (5 artillery DO fit). You could fit it for speed like a vaga (it's got the lows for it and even if it doesn't have the skill level boost for speed it does have higher base speed than it did).
This looks like it could be fit may ways a stabber could not. The only problem I see is the prevalence of nano gangs will limit it's potential. |

Edited by: HankMurphy on 11/06/2008 18:04:47 easy question. easy answer.
vaga has t2 resists and a falloff bonus. vaga every time
this doesn't mean that they haven't made the fleet stabber a useful ship again, and while it isn't cost effective, it is now combat effective (but not nearly as much as his t2 brother)
how would i fit the stabber? not sure yet, haven't bought one, but i would imagine as close to a vaga fit as i can manage ------------------------------ of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most |

3 rigs vs 2 rigs of the VAGA (1 or 2 rigs minimizes falloff difference)
40m3 Drones instead of 25m3 (HUGE drone DPS difference)
20% less mass (= one invincible nanofiber II fitted - yet 6 more low slots free)
50% bonus to tracking
Vaga still has better Rez, and 25% DMG bonus (DMG bonus is actually a gyro that can fit in the 6th low slot)
Honestly i cant make up my mind...

more like 2 nanofiber II's. 1 only reduces mass by 1.250.000 and their mass difference is 2.000.000, so including diminishing return, the fleet issue stabber has 2 built in nano II's |

The new fleet stabber is really really really nice, I have it fitted out like this atm, also it does the exact same speed as it did before it was changed, something like 4,300 m/s with my skills and that setup, no implants in effect, tbh It looks like a monster of a damage ship / heavy tackler now, before it did not have the grid for 2x LSE now it does and loads to spare, fleet stabber is pure bling bling now

I'm pretty sure that 3x Core field extenders are better than 3x shield resist rigs, Gneez, not to mention the added shield per sec you get with more shield hp.
Vaga still outperforms SFI in all areas but tracking. So the SFI can waste frigs a whole lot faster and maybe more people will try to engage you, those are the good points from what I can tell. It also can barely fit 5x 650mm IIs and a 10mn II but not much else, hmmmmms. --

perhaps some 650s loaded with faction ammo and a heap of tracking computers along with extension rigs would make a great inty smacker

More drone bay. 20% less mass (2 nanofibers II build in) 1 more low slot. 1 more rig slot.
So Vaga doesnt outperform SFI in all areas...

Greetings G...
Havent tested speed yet as i havent been playing with the fit - i just fit it to see if it would fit and logged off. Heh.
As you have seen at SHC its about 2.4km/s it seems. With a plate wow thats pretty impressive. With 3 med ecms and 2 ligths this thing is gonna be quite nasty. Don't listen to the 'omg armour tank' crowd. They just like running away from stuff like little girls lol!!
