I just needed to express how really ****ed I am about the stupid idea to make a probe hull the basis for the Minma covert ops frigate.
I love the probe.
But I even loved the cheetah the way it looked much more, and giving the probe some fleet tempest solar sails doesn't compensate at all.
Just my angry 2 cents.

I can only sympathize with your point of view.
I can't find the words to describe my disappointment to find myself in a "camouflaged mining ship" when I jump into my Cheetah.
I love the Probe too .... as a target

cheeta looks a lot better now. I love the green windows. :)
unless your flying classic graphics, then I'm sorry for you.
Also I fly a hyena so it doesn't effect me.

I am talking about the premium graphics content. Green windows..........LOL
And if the basic idea of taking the probe hull wasn't ridiculous enough, CCP did not even bother to spend it a camouflage texture. I'm really in agonizing pain here.

I agree with the idea, so make it a Burst pls ,-)
But hell no, not a ship every Minma is used to know in a completely different role!!!! Vigil is the one with electronic superiority
I will never ever get used to THIS intolerable mistake, unless its texture is seriously redesigned at least.
So, I will need to prefer my buzzard from now on and this is pure shame.

what? the brust is the mining frigate not the probing frigate.
it has bonuses that the cheeta has.
Also the Vigil gets bonuses to target painters, and the heyna gets bonuses to target painters and webs and MWD and it rocks. and it makes sense. |

wtf we don't care about probing bonus. The Vigil's hull was beautifull, the Probe's hull suck, that is the point. |

Couldn't have said it better myself..
I've been opposing this change since I first heard of it on sisi, but CCP is turning their proverbial noses into the air and have just "decided" to make this change for no good reason what so ever.
Makes sense? Yeah, internet space ships makes sense... really.. they do...
Who cares if the t2 upgrade sequence isn't consistent.. The Cheetah was fine the way it was, it's just annoying and childish to change a hull 3 years after the ship class was introduced for some anal retentive rant on how internet space ships must make sense.

This was a horrible thing to do!
Helios and cheetah were cool looking ships, and they are both ruined for looks now.
The thing I liked about all four (old) models of covert ops was that they suited the ship-class they were in.
What I mean by that is coverts are not supposed to be bulky looking things, they are small, subtle, lithe yet fragile things - and their models deserve to be so as well.
The old maulus and vigil hulls fitted this brilliantly, unlike the dumpy, bulky and ugly hulls that the new models have gotten.
Please ccp - give us our proper covert models back!!!!
In the meantime, the Buzzard at least escaped unscathed and still has that pukka covert ops feel - thank God they didn't change that to a Bantam hull! (and Cali frig 5 is not too much of a hardship to train....)

It's a pile of trash. It's nothing subtle about it, doesnt look agile or smooth. That thing is something you'd use to scare children with. |

Personally I'm not bothered. Not in that "I don't care" kind of way - An alt of mine is training for cheetah and will continue doing so.
Sure, the probe hull looks like crap, but I think that was the point, tbh. It's not a crap *design* - it's an incredibly effective design that portrays perfectly the idea of "this ship is a makeshift design because we were slaves when we designed and used it to overthrow our Amarrian masters", and that just happens to mean that it's gotta look "like crap".
To that end, I'm happy to fly it, it has a very effective atmosphere surrounding it. |
