The Eleventh Commandment Dystopia Alliance

For those people who are tired of all the faction failures and want to mock the system, we are now opening Dystopia Alliance to the public.
Dystopia Alliance is the first open alliance in the history of EVE. Everyone who joins the executor corp "The Eleventh Commandment" will be made a Director of the corp, and of the alliance.
We have a 1300 member limit, and would eventually like to see that many directors in our corp. Alts and trials are welcome. Yes, trials can become directors of the alliance. You can of course, recruit, declare war, add and remove corps, and see all the shiny buttons alliance CEOs get to see without turning your nose brown, or flashing your e-peen. It's all free of charge.
Smart people should be able to figure out what kind of trouble you can get into with this kind of power and lack of accountability. This is exactly what we are going for.
All are welcome. EVE is a Dystopia, so we should embrace what it's worth. Let the games begin. |

This is not so much a recruitment thread as an announcement of a new player created feature of EVE.

This is indeed a silly, silly way to celebrate a dev. (Why, CCP Eris Discordia, of course.)
As a note, the word you're likely looking for is "anarchy". (Dystopia or a pessimistic vision of a future society or setting is the opposite of utopia, an optimistic view of a future society or setting.)
I wonder what the Star Fraction folks think about this.

Yes, yes you can.

Absolutely. You can do anything a director can do. Even trial account directors, in theory, could accept and kick out corps with zero accountability. This opens up a few disturbing but amusing possibilities.

I kinda' like "Dystopia." I think it fits, and the additional combination of "dysfunctional" and "utopia" is a bonus.

Our first recruit hiked the tax rate to 50% probably with the sad realization that anyone can adjust it. The fun is already beginning.

Dystopia Actually is a word already....
Also this is pointless. it has nothing to do with being a dystopia, it's just chaotic. Follow link above to see what a dystopia actually is.
Theres only 2 reasons to join up. 1) (and most likely) to grief everybody else joining up 2) to see the interface for a director for regular players
#2 won't be hanging around, and #1 will all be trying to grief each other, which means nothing will happen.

Freya, the Oxford English Dictionary has dystopia as, "An imaginary place or condition in which everything is as bad as possible; opp. UTOPIA (cf. CACOTOPIA)."
I think it fits.

Being promoted to the highest rank in the alliance as soon as you join? Thats not "bad" :p It's chaotic, and as a result of that and peoples greed, its going to be bad.

I think you're looking at it the wrong way. You're thinking too conventionally about the well established EVE model of boringness. Think of it as a novel opportunity to build a community of interesting people that want some unconventional game play for a change. EVE is filled with lack of creativity and GM propaganda. This is a way to change all that.
There are also some fun loopholes this will give people the opportunity to use without fronting a billion isk of their own money. You have to think creatively to figure them out, and smart individuals will.

I understand your sentiment, but I find the "'bad' because it is 'not bad'" argument rather humorous.
