i just got myself a raven and outfitted it for lvl 4 missions. [siege launchers, nos and shield tank.] but i have noticed somthing annoying aobut the missles. they are only able to fly for SIX SECONDS. that means they cant even go 20 km before dissapearing. i have A LOAD of missle skills. what do i need to make thoes torps work like they should? |

If you want range train tech 2 torpedos , missile projection lvl 5 ,Missile bombardment lvl 5 and caldari BS lvl 5 .And if you need more range you have to use rigs. Edit : yes youll get 30km and 45km with missile projection lvl 5 ,Missile bombardment lvl 5 and caldari BS lvl 5

Like they "should"? Torps are short range weapons like blasters or autocannons. In fact they have great range for "short" range weapons.
In a BS4 Raven with missile bombardment 5 and missile projection 5, you should be getting about 30Km, so I think your "LOAD" of missile skills needs to be increased. You can fit missile flight time/velocity rigs to take you up to 40Km, put in a missile velocity implant to get another Km or so. Train Caldari BS 5 to get a couple more. Maxed out, you can get ~45Km with t1 torps, which is enough for everything except the kitiest Guristas. |

If you just got yourself a raven, I assume your Caldari Battleship is not high, which is a big disadvantage. For missions you really need as much range as you can get so obviously in order to make those torp work you need very good missile skills and use all rig slots for range which causes all sorts of trouble.
Example: I have caldari battleship trained to lvl 5, but my missile bombardment and missile projection skills are only lvl 3. I also can't use t2 torps. what does it mean?
It means that with three t1 rigs (two for velocity and one for flight time) and +3% to missile velocity implant my torp range is 9 * 1.5 * 1.3 * 1.261 * 1.3 * 1.03 = 29.63 km Make it 29 since torps doesn't accelerate to their max velocity instantly.
Which is not enough since a crpaload of Battleships orbit in the interval of 30-40 km
So I have to use AB which is a wasted mid slot. Even if I had my missile skills for range maxed out the lack of t2 javelin torps would mean that I need AB anyway in order to destroy long range BS which orbit at 50 km or spawn very far away or avoid these kind of missions.
Also using launcher rigs causes all sort of cpu troubles like not being able to use x-large shield booster even with Electronics V and Launcher Rigging IV and faction modules which require less cpu, which means that your tank (which already lacks rigs) is even more compromised and you can't solo Angel Extravaganza bonus pocket comfortably without rewarps for example. Add here that because of AB (which drains cap by the way) you would probably have to skip on target painter and because of launcher rigs you would have to skip on 1 or 2 ballistic control systems you suddenly loose quite a bulk of your damage and thats what you were aiming for when getting torps. Oh and your tank sucks anyway so you have to avoid some missions.
So in order to make it work you need:
Caldari Battleship V Missile Projection V Missile Bombardment V Torpedoes V Electronics V Launcher Rigging IV Energy Management V Energy System Operations V Tactical Shiled Manipulation IV Shield Compensation V
and you would probably want to wait for golem anyway, since it has more mid slots for target painters which would help your torps, it has a "free" shield booster from maraudeur skill which is another free midslot. And it uses only 4 launchers which would allow you to fit x-large shield booster comfortably. It has only 2 rig slots though but t2 launcher rigs require 150 calibration points anyway and if you can afford to get golem you can afford to get them too |

Has the Rave always had a bonus to cruise and torpedo velocity or is that new?
I only recall the Raven having a Rate of Fire bonus |
