The recent news has shaken the entire cluster. A fleet purported to be the ancient Elders appears, slaps CONCORD, picks up the Starkmanir, attacks Sarum, apparently gets devastated by a dead Heir, and disappears again in the direction of the Great Wildlands.
The Amarr Navy pulls back, Republic Fleet doesn't cross the borders, the Caldari claim Caldari Prime and Foirtan agrees to it... but CONCORD throws together new militia groups for sanctioned warfare.
There are a lot of holes here. Questions unanswered. Void where proof should be.
And blood is filling those holes.
But perhaps the saddest thing in all of this is, it doesn't matter.
What's done is done. Our duty now lies with the living, with those who survive.
The 24th Imperial Crusade has already engaged in acts of aggression against Matari personnel and assets in Matari space abutting the Bleak Lands. They have stated an agenda to finish the so-called "Reclaiming".
All members of this group have therefore been declared not only kill on sight to Electus Matari, but to be proactively hunted and brought down on every front. Action against this group will be military, political, economic and we just might hurt your feelings too.
This is an action of self-defence, and defence of those dear to us. The 24th Crusade has initiated hostilities against Republican forces, and we will preserve our nation according to Midular's last order.
"By any means necessary".
To the Amarr, however, we say this.
There has to date been no order from the Republic for forces to join the Tribal Liberation Front. And I for one have seen no public order from any faction of the Amarr ruling powers to join the 24th Imperial Crusade.
Electus Matari's war has always been and will ever be against those of proven hostility to our nation. We do not and will not target those who choose to stay neutral, regardless of their race.
We do not seek genocide. We do not seek revenge. The past is gone; no matter how sad, how angry it makes us, we cannot change it.
Our fight is for the living, for the future.
Let the Day of Darkness never dawn again.

The olive branch has been trampeled into the ground by the Republic. To claim you are acting in self-defence now is laughable to put it positively. If you'd have checked your maps you'd also have noticed that hostilities were again initiated by the Republic and it's lackeyes. Squirm as much as you want, worm, you are the aggressors here.

You missed the point of Commander Char, slaver.
The point is in this sentence: "But perhaps the saddest thing in all of this is, it doesn't matter."
It does not matter anymore who started this, not as long as your forces are on a rampage to Reclaim. As always, we will defend our people, by any means necessary.

Well G0rf, maybe Armageddon is a new class of shuttle that I've not heard about.
And ignoring the silliness of the claim - does anyone seriously think a reasonable sized Amarrian paramilitary battlegroup is coming to Pator without any intention of fighting? - I would point out that hostilities only kicked off after said Amarrian battlegroup opened fire on a lone Typhoon peacefully approaching the Onga gate in Gyng. So, despite wanting to believe in the good will of our PIE/VV counterparts mission (sure we didn't have much interest in their words, but they have a right to speak) we were forced to retaliate to this opening of hostilities. Fortunately, we had our own fleet nearby, as we wished to ensure that our Amarrian friends had a safe trip to their own space.
I think that's at least as believable as Mr. Blake's statement that they came with no intention of hostilities; parts of it are verifiably true. |

Edited by: Lyra Garris on 12/06/2008 19:34:29 While getting involved in this argument is going to be pretty pointless, I have to correct KillJoy here...
The first hostility was actually a stealth bomber belonging to Hobblah, an employee of Gradient and member of Electus Matari, shooting at my scout ship while we were peacefully assembled around the monument around Pator. Hobblah then proceeded to try and destroy most of the fleet's smaller elements, repeatedly, until he left to join with the main Matari fleet in a larger vessel. At that point, the 'peaceful' Electus Matari forces had proven hostile, so it's pretty obvious that the fleet would engage known enemies, especially as we had reports of the Matari fleeting up and preparing to attack.
Not asking for permission is a straw-man argument. It would have never been given and everyone knows that. And if we had come in unarmed ships, well, bear in mind the very first shot was by Electus Matari at an unarmed ship. |

reminds me of the recent flare up of hostilities between U'K and PIE/VV/AM/etc where we went to visit Amarr with no hostile intent (I wanted to look at the really ugly statue) and were brutally attacked by some very bad men, which made us very sad and forced us against our will to open fire.
IE, both stories are complete testicals. You went looking for a fight, you found one, and now you are engaged in some kind of lying competition to see who can spin the truth the hardest. I think you should stop before you cause some kind of coriolis force to rip a hole in the universe. We come for our people |

Well, in that case I must apologize, Ms. Garris; I believe he was acting without orders to that end, and if you submit killmails for any of the scouting elements of your perfectly peaceable fleet of heavily-armed warships that he destroyed, I'm sure we can see about reimbursement. In return, perhaps we can see about reimbursement for various, for example, mining assets that were attacked *in Republic space* by your forces? Or repatriation for crewmembers captured and, according to members of your organization, enslaved using the Vitoc method? Can I recieve assurances that if I choose to visit Amarr in a warship for peaceful purposes, I won't be attacked enroute?
Let's be perfectly serious here. You came in a warfleet looking for a fight. You got one. That you and Mr. Blake are claiming otherwise crosses over into the realm of the ridiculous, which I had previously thought Amarrians had a limited appreciation for.

For an age now PIE and VV have been coming into Matari Space in search of Easy Kills running from fights that are on an even level.
Saying they are on peace laden trips such as going home is a compleat false hood, they sit in wait ready to pounce on any thing that can not fight back or can not escape quickly enough for them to both immobilize and scramble a ships F,C,S! (Fire Control System)
Taking great joy in the slow death of their prey!
But that's fine for they are at war with EM but when they cry foul because the same is done on to them, then that just shows them to be Immature Children Playing at being Adults!
As though like some infant demanding they can attack but their enemies can't hit back at them when they enter Matari space, Continue your work's EM, let not these Fell Vultures sway you from your Course.

As an other example, we have repeatedly suggested that the Praetoria would pull back their war declaration on us so that negotiations concerning the incident that caused the hostilitites would continue.

The Ushra K'han have come a long way since I helped train the majority of its founding pilots but I will freely admit I was always a little more radical in my solutions than my brethren.
Ultimately though I will not hold it against the U'K if one lone rogue pilot chooses to seek me out and show the strength of his convictions by dying at my hands. Unless you simply intended to make bold sounding threats safe in the knowledge you have no intention of ever flying near me?

The folly of youth my rear. Fine, Mr. Fell, horrible things have been done to our people. I wasn't born in Republic space, and I spent a good portion of my life on the ground in Ammatar space, I have rather a good idea about the details. But if you wish to spout about genocide, about warring on civilians, I challenge you to have the strength of conviction to do so face to face. I would like to see how long you can continue to stomach this talk of genocide while being forced to look the people you're carrying it out on in the face as you kill them. Making war on civilians is tremendously easy when you don't have to look at them, when it's just numbers on a screen displayed on the inside of our pod, just ordinance making its way to the surface from your ship, just orders to pacify an area.
Else, I'm sorry I'm derailing this further, but the man hit a nerve.
