I am currently Flying a Myrmidon, and have started to peek at lvl4 missions.
Can use MAR II / T2 Med drones.. my current skills are here: clicky! So now i gotta start thinking about training for a lvl4 mission runner ship, ive heard only good things about Raven and Domi.. but as i understand Raven is more isk/h compared to Dominix or other Gal BS.. even when low skilled.
So my question is, is it worth the cross training at this stage, regarding my current skill and all ?
and what skills would i really need to start using Raven in easy/med lvl4 mishes?

Domi with sentries and railguns should be pretty good.

With your skills you'll need to study the mission guides carefully. I had similar skills when I started level 4s, and some of the missions were tricky, but it's doable.
Since you have high drone skills/mechanic skills, and low missile/shield skills, the Domi is definitely for you. I'd train up mechanic a little more, but you can use best named LARs and hardeners and get by. Most of your damage will be done with drones, so here's the crossroads for you:
If you want to eventually do missions quicker, train for Raven, shield skills, and cruise missiles while doing level 4s with your Domi. If you think you'll like using the Domi long term, then train up gunnery and mechanic skills, and use sentry drones. If you want to AFK missions, you need the Domi with T2 Heavy drones.

Thanks for replies, guess ill train for Gal BS and LAR II to start with then.. just so i can start doing lv4's.. Doing lv4 in Myrmidon is not the easisest task..but i have managed a few easy lv4 until now. guessing even a low skilled Domi would be a lot better :)
Any input on if i should use x2 LAR's or would i manage with 1?

2 LAR's consume a lot of cap and power grid - try 1 LAR combined with 1 MAR. That should cover the peak damage of a Worlds Collide when combined with the right armor hardeners. Never shoot the triggers too early with low skills or you will die fast.

With those skills I'd say the domi will clearly outperform the raven in the short term, and it's a good mission boat in the long term as well.
You need to work on your tanking skills for either, but your drone skills are in pretty good shape and damage is very important. |

T2 sentrys are very good to have when doing lv4 missons. They dont have to travel to target before doing dmg. If NPCs start shooting sentrys you just scoop them and release them again. Garde T2 0-45km and Warden T2 over that rng. Later on if you get a Ishtar to do missons then you orbit the sentrys at 500m and gunships will have a hard time hiting you :D

Many of the isk/hr numbers you are going to find will not be taking into the account that the domi can salvage and loot while the drones do the killing. This makes a bit of a difference from my experience. Instead of having to come back to the mission space in a dedicated salvage ship you clean it up as you go. some missions have inordinate amounts of loot of course, but in those cases I usually put all the crappy loot into a jetcan per room and then all you have to do is warp to the cans and clear them out, making the cleanup trip quick. -=^=-

Poor time management. If you shield tank a sentry domi, you should have the highs full of rails to nearly double your DPS. Given that you shouldn't take the same amount of time to complete the mission as loot and salvage, you're better off coming back in a destroyer.
But if you need your double LAR 1500 DPS tanked domi, I'm sure fitting a salvager or two isn't a bad idea. Then again, if you're running a double LAR shell-afk domi, you're probably not overly concerned with isk/hr. |
