Is it possible to have navigational charts that a character can load into a given ship (they own) so what it can auto pilot waypionts created by player and/or CCP. for example a Navigational chart from Nonni to yz-lql and back, that one uploads to their ship and can "instajump" the whole route?

Im not actually sure why gates and stations dont have a warp disruption field setup to simply prevent insta jumps outright.
anyway - insta jmps are enough of an exploit that I can't see the point of putting any feature in specifically targetted at allowing afk abuse of the feature.
That is, Insta jumping is a feature available to those players who actually play the game. A speed effiency gained by NOT using the autopilot and wandering off to watch TV.

On the other hand - being able to - well - plot a route accross multiple systems with a docking order right at the end would be nice. AFK heaven for sure, but hell, just because im not physically present does not mean that the money I pay to "play" EVE is somehow worth less.
Given the precedent set by "realtime" skill training I dont see that allowing more complex autopilot paths as being a necessarilly bad thing.
In which case, I dont see that adding a "add as Waypoint #x" to bookmark menu's is such a nasty feature. It would take such an effort of will to plot the route, adding each bookmark, then the next sector, then a bookmark, then a sector etc. that i can't actually see anyone actually bothering to use it to plot an insta jump route.
But it would allow the creating of patrol routes in a single system.

hell, i already have bookmarks in "route folders" so i just can follow a route all the way to destinations.
to be able to make "routes" of bookmarks/places/systems etc would be awesome.
but id also like some map things nerfed a bit - anothe rpost though. -----

I think its a bad idea - ppl would just go afk and there would be endless whining about ppl being ganked while afk because such and such feature didnt work...
Its like mining - they dont want u to do it afk thats the point, same as traveling - it will not happen.

Edited by: X'Alor on 11/05/2004 15:47:55 How bout this.........
We all know how when auto pilot is set, it shows all the systems as dots on the left side of screen and it shows what is the "next" system only.
So if you want to look at the names of your route, we have go into the "map screen" to do so.
Well wouldn't it be a very very nice feature if you could hold your curser over any one of those dots on the left and it has right click show system info options and/or atleast highlight the system name for each dot in autopilot route. That way we'd be able to use the map for initial settings and wouldn't need to constantly be going into map throughout autopilot to see how many jumps left to a specific along the way.
I personally would love that feature........
be kinda nice if you could get map display settings info on the system as well such as.........pods killed in last hour.
