Edited by: CSH WhiteKnight on 13/06/2008 22:51:41 Not sure if this is the right forum, but i wasnt sure where else to put it.
Just looking through the FW guide, and i found this line...
"Empire navies/militaries, reacting if a player with the FW flag or -5 and less faction standings jumps into an enemy high-security system."
specifically
"FW flag *OR* -5 and less faction standings"
To me this sugests that anyone who, over the course of the game so far, has gained a "-5 or less" faction standing can no-longer enter that factions high sec space. Is this really the case ?
I thought the factional warfare was only relavent to people who sign up for it, but this appears to tar everyone with the same brush.
I personally (despite being Gallente myself) have a -5.35 standing to Gallente Fed. I do, however have ships, and items in gallente high sec space.
I was un aware that the FW patch would proclude me from ever getting these back, and I`m fairly sure it was never mentioned in any of the lead up info i read.
Could someone please clarify exactly what this line means to normal "non-fw" players.
Cheers.

Nothing changed there, really. Even before the EA expansion, if you entered a highsec system of a faction to whom you had a modified standing below -5, faction navy npcs spawned and shot at you.
The only difference is that their firepower was rather lol'ish (2 frigs, 1 cruiser) and got boosted so the navies are actually a threat. But they don't scram, so unless you are afk, you can still fly through.

Ive been playing since the beta and i didnt know that....
God i love this games documentation.... oh wait :D
How high sec is "high sec" when you get attacked ?
I.e. only enemy 1.0 ? or anything 0.5+ ?
Doesnt the speed and the severity of the response vary based on sec level ?

Just re-read what you said.
Originally by: Mioelnir to whom you had a modified standing
Does that mean my diplomacy that takes my standing back up to -2.3 means i wont get killed ?
I thought diplomacy didnt affect any FW related issues ?

Yes

Only the standing to enter the militia is an unmodified value. And you can still enter the militia as part of a corporation joining it even if you don't have the needed standing.
