Edited by: minx trader on 14/06/2008 08:44:32 your already in a corp, a NPC corp. if your really new be worth staying in there few at least a month, chat to people, ask questions etc. learn a lot
to join any corp (can only be a member of 1 corp) do a search for the corp in the people and places section, then look at the details of how to join.
theres also a recruitment channel in on the left tool bar "mailing and channels" look in there.
i think eve university is a pvp training corp but might be wrong, heard ok things about them

EVE University corporation, in the Ivy League alliance.
They help train new pilots. Good folks, all around.
You can join their public chat-channel "EVE University" if you want to say hi.
I got a lot of help in there when I was new, even though I wasn't a member. Just good, friendly peeps. _______ Break your chains! Kinda'Shujaa is just the first step. |

EVE university is a long going effort to help people learn about the game, they have classes, videos and sound transcripts to help you learn stuff, they'll answer your questions and you'll have a very active corp chat. As I see it it's the best introduction you can get into EVE since it learns you what you need to know (if you put in the effort) and it shows you how a community works and how everyone plays their part in it.
To get in contact with them join channel "EVE university", you do that by clicking the channels button on the left side of your screen and then click the "join channel button". Read what it says in the MOTD and take it from there.

EVE Uni have their own public channel.
Go to Channels & Mailing Lists button bellow wallet on neocom (left panel). Click on it and at the very bottom click "Join". Then type in "EVE University" for channel name and click OK.
EVE Uni is a great place for new players starting out. The trouble with them is that they spend like 2/3rds of their time being war dec'd. During war decs they close recruitment so you may have to wait a few weeks to get in. Also if you're not seeking pvp experience at this point in time then you might think about joining another corp that gets less war decs. They do have some experienced leaders so you will have guidance during wars.
