I know there is a way to do it, but I can't find it. I am in a catch-22. I can't see any structures to right click to add to my overview.
BTW, the rookie chat line was useless on this. 95% of that chat room is spam.

First, I expect that you have found the Overview settings menu: click on the white triange to the left of the word Overview.
Choose open overview settings, Large Collidable Structures are found under the Entity section.
As a tip, save your mission overview settings both with and without Large Collidable Structures visable. You can then toggle their appearance by selecting one of your overview preset.
Overview presets can also be assigned as tabs making it even easier to toggle those settings.

As a tip, save your mission overview settings both with and without Large Collidable Structures visable. You can then toggle their appearance by selecting one of your overview preset.

In that case I would suggest that you have a close look at all the options found there.
There is alot you can do to make your overview more effective.
BTW - Here is a guide for you to check out. It might be a little out of date in that it doesn't explain the tabs feature or brackets. You should be able to figure out tabs by just playing around. Brackets allow you to apply your overview filters to the icons that you see in space.
