The exploration channel.
Someone asks a question and the moderator for the channel begins to harrass that person.
That is really kinda weak dont ya think.
Guess it would be better to not even use the channel "exploration" if you have a question about ... exploration huh?
Again, another waste of resources.
Nice fail.
Oh and no, I was not the victim.
Just hate watching people who have total control of the channel being asshats to others who have a question.

I certainly don't condone anti-social behavior, but I *believe* it's a player owned channel, so they live and die by their reputation. There's nothing else keeping them from doing it though.

Having been to that channel quite often I take a wild stab in the dark .. this "someone" kept asking stuff that's explained on page 1-2 of the exploration guide?

There is a significant portion of the population that have no inkling about the forums, and wouldn't come here even if they knew. And honestly, there are days I think they've got it right.

Well Staff Seargent Sniper, after answering 'which probes do I use on Unknowns' for the 8th time that night, you might be a bit snippy too. Remember, the Exploration channel mods are human, and they are by no means bound to aid you or even be nice to you. I have no idea what happened, but I suspect it was someone who hadn't done any research at all.
Googling "eve exploration guide" as one might when looking for such answers returns this thread as its first result, by the way. It's the mechanics of probing, and links to a second thread on exploration in the first post.

My answer for these people are:
On Radar Sigs you use Radar Probes, on Gravimetric sigs you use Gravi Probes.
So on Unkown Sigs you use Unkown Probes.
After a while they ask where to get Unkown probes. I answer They arn't in game. So it doesn't matter what kind of probes you use on Unkown.

The guides are linked in the Exploration channel motd, aren't they? So you don't need to be a forum ***** to find them.

1-it's a player run channel, suck it up or make your own
2-the vast majority of the questions that get asked have been answered in various guides and/or the latest patch notes
3-the guides are linked in the channel MOTD so the whole "I don't read the forums so I can't see the guides" bit doesn't fly
4-the MOTD also tells people to check the patch notes
I've NEVER seen anyone be a jerk when a question gets asked that isn't already answered in the patch notes or the very handily provided link. Since it's a player run channel, if you cannot be considerate enough to use the resources that people have taken the time to provide or read the patch notes when you see your freakin client patching because you haven't logged in in a week then I don't think you deserve the consideration of a polite answer. After all, you're just crapping on the people who took the time to help in the first place by not using the resources provided.
