Hi,
I'm experiencing a lot of problem regarding resons from EVE. It happens all around in the game, when I "hit" the aproach button from onscreen menu, or from the overwiev. When I try to activate my turrets or afterburner ++, when I'm reprocessing or selling stuff, it happens all over. There does not seem to be a pattern in the problems, just suddenly things don't work. Like I just autopiloted true 3 SS, on the last jump my ship didn't approach the stargate, I tried manually, but nothing happened. After 5 min, my ship suddenly started approaching the stargate while I was writing this message. Then when I selected dock from the onscreen menu at my station, ship warped to station, but stil it's just floating outside the station, I can schoose dock from the menu, but nothing happens... If I activate my afterburner and nothing happens, I try to hit it again, and I get a message onscreen, "command already in process, please wait until it is done" or something like that.
Nothing happens for minuttes, and thats quite scary in mission... When i'm docked It doesen't matter too much, but it's still anoying.
It's not "lagging", couse there can be only 8 players in my SS(depens of course). It's not my internet connection, couse it up and running(2mB sown and 450kB up). This problems started to appear after the new upgrade.
Please I wanna continue playing, but atm it's not plesant.
best regards Krongkrong II

Sounds like connection issues. Try running a few traceroute's to TQ:
Hot to run trace route: * open a command prompt (windows key+r -> type "cmd" -> hit enter) * Type "/tracert 87.237.38.200" * Look for "*" or large numbers where it lists the ping times as that will indicate where there may be network problems. ____________________________ I break things.

Edited by: Krungkrung on 16/06/2008 20:04:58 Thanks for the reply.
Mostly I get below 70ms, from 20-70ms seems to be usual. Once in awhile I get above 100ms. Seems to me that the local caonnnection might be the "thinnest tube", this is where I get above a 100ms most often. But I also got above 200ms on this ip: 172.24.61.206 (don't know where that is) 7 49 ms 53 ms 120 ms hbg-bb1-pos7-0-0.telia.net [213.248.65.146] 8 80 ms 139 ms 141 ms ldn-bb1-link.telia.net [80.91.249.10] 9 196 ms 111 ms 92 ms ldn-b4-link.telia.net [80.91.251.17] My modem/router is a speedtouch 546i.
Today I also experienced for the first time that EVE-cluster was full, I had to wait in que to connect. 33795 users, later on I got to log in but there where 34500 user at that time... almost a 1000 moore users, but I didn't have to que? best regards KrongĻ

I have had 4 or so disconnect today (which is at least 3 more than normal).
This is the outcome - I guess it is rather poor...? (not downloading p0rn or any other net activities while testing)

I have been waiting around to see if anyone else had similar issues as myself and I must say this looks quite similar.
I've noticed it is somehow connected to my ISP though (my brother gets the same issue, I think, but only on one of his two ISPs). I got flawlessly 46ms ping to the IP adress mentioned above. I have tried reinstalls, different machines, cleared cache etc. I will have a go at classic graphics when I get home and see if it helps.
This really blows as I've already lost 2 ships to this and it takes me more than an hour to get me a new one every time.
Oh well, to be continued!

Does not seem too bad compared with others results. But stil my ship was just hanging around for a couple of minutes before warping to station.

This first hop is an internal IP address. I assume you're connecting through a school/uni or work network? Getting a 300ms ping to an internal address is a clear indication of a network problem on your end. Though your second trace looks quite good, so it is an intermittent problem. Could be something as simple as someone using up most of the available bandwidth by downloading/torrenting a lot.

Krungkrung,
Given that your traces look good I'd try using a different port to ensure it's not traffic shaping on the part of your ISP. Here's how. ____________________________ I break things.

Edited by: Krongkrong II on 12/07/2008 19:14:33 Edited by: Krongkrong II on 12/07/2008 19:13:42 Hi again ![Wink](/images/icon_wink.gif)
It didn't work to change the port, I didn't get this "box" at the login to change the port number. Not by editing the prefs.ini in the "C:\Documents and Settings\***\Lokale innstillinger\Programdata\CCP\EVE\settings" or the "C:\Documents and Settings\***\Lokale innstillinger\Programdata\CCP\EVE\g_spill_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings" catalouge.
I gave up, there where so many player complaining about this that I just gave up. And then there was this episode with an ISP wich we had problems with. I hoped that it would stop after U changed/stopped using certain ISP, the problem would bee solved, but it didn't.
But nowadays, I haven't been logged out at all !! I hope U boys/girls hav done something, couse it does not happen anymoore.
