Edited by: Eventy One on 16/06/2008 14:38:27 In doing research on the Gallente and their military might, I discovered something amazing.
Using GalNet, I went to may favorite search engine to see what I could find out about the Gallente forebears - the French:
1. Go to your favorite search engine Google.com 2. Type in "French Military Victories" 3. Hit "I'm Feeling Lucky"
To confirm that the search engine was providing believable result I conducted the following test:
1. Go to your favorite search engine Google.com 2. Type in "Search for Chuck Norris" 3. Hit "I'm Feeling Lucky"
Based upon the results of the "Search for Chuck Norris" test, I have to believe the first results also to be correct. Therefore what can we concluded about the Gallente?

As a caldari I always like a jab at gallente, but goddamn, this is old.. As old as google i think.
And ffs. learn your history before making claims that the french military history consists of surrenders and losses.
The germans horribly lost two of their last wars and noone is calling them bad warriors..

Wow its always lovely to see the Americans make fun of the French. I am certain every frenchman wishes they could turn back time make sure that they never helped that backwater English colony gain independence. Its strange that an entire culture is judged by the events of WW2 or Waterloo. The British had the sea to hold the enemy back, and the help of the US
I guess Napoleon and Rochambeau knew nothing about fighting. I guess Napoleon lost his fights because he didn't want to fight, as opposed to legitimate errors or lack of manpower.
So yeah, google bombs are nice but they are what they are, the act of petty people.

Fail:
The French are judged by the fact that they repeatedly need to have their territory taken back for them, and then pretend it never happened!
Second Fail:
I suppose the Battle of Britain had nothing to do with holding the enemy back then? Did the sea rise up like a biblical curse and swamp the invasion barges of the Wermacht? No, I dont think so!

-Up until the Franco-Prussian War, France was one of the premier military powers in Europe
-Napoleon routinely kicked everyones ass in the Napoleonic Wars. He eventually started a land war in Asia and got blobbed.
-It is true that lately, France has been kind of impotent and generally gets rolled, whether by the German war machine, or rioting immigrants, or just a really hot summer day (15,000 elderly frenchmen dead). This, combined with the very high french opinion of themselves, opens them up for mockery :p

What? I don't know if you know this, but the Battle of Britain failed, Germany was never able to establish air supremacy, and Operation Sealion (the planned German invasion of England) never happend.
So umm, what are you talking about?

at OP
It should be pointed out that in the late 17th and early 19th cnetury France was the supreme military power in Europe. it took an allince of Britain, Holland and Austria to put them in check (War of the Spanish Sucession).
Also in the early 18th century France conquered most of europe, from madrid to the outskirts of Moscow. It was the russian winter that defeated them not an army.

interestingly enough the brits gamed sealion out with the germans a few years after the end of ww2. turned out the british would have been pretty happy with sealion going ahead. it would have been a godawful disaster for the germans costing them most of the divisions committed to the operation as well as a large chunk of their navy.
you might also want to take a look at the casualties the french took during the german invasion. their army failed at high levels to understand what was going on but the poilu's put up a decent fight.

Yea, in the 70s. But they did assume that it proceeded like it did and the Germans did not get air superiority. If they did it would've been quite a different story.
Even though there was the large failure of the French Everything in WW2, it would be ridiculous to say that DeGaulle and the Free French forces didn't play an important part.
