Edited by: Hormone1971 on 17/06/2008 04:58:03 Just a though, How about being able to insure your equipment or basically everything in the game. Its either done through the in-game insurance company OR it allows free trade so Corps can become Insurance companies. Obviously a system needs to be implemented into the code so someone know when a item is destroyed and a payout needs to be done. With free trade from an insurance pint of view, that would make the cost come down as I brings competition to it. Am I missing something??
Also with insurance in modern real life its calculated on risk and cost to replace of the item NOT material cost. Perhaps a more REAL TO LIFE model would work better??
Any thoughts??

i have a simple question....
WTF?
call up your car insurance company and ask if you can insure the spare tire in the trunk of your car. lemme know how that goes. simple answer for you. this is a game that has a combat system with risks. dont fly or use anything your not willing to and/or cannot afford to lose.

Be thankful you can insure your ships at all.

The answer is its already covered in the insurance. dont need to seperately insure the spare tire.

I doubt you could get your spare tire paid for by an insurance agency if it blew out. Reguardless, the only reason insurance exists in Eve is so that you get something back when you lose a ship instead of going practically to 0. It is merely meant to encourage risk taking, not to indemnify you so you can get all your stuff back if you lose it.
Don't fly what you can't afford to lose.
