2500kg of in-game tobacco in cix boxes are worth barely 50 isk.
This means a box of cigs (60g), in gallente territory (which I suspect is the closest one to europe regarding taxes) would be worth 0.0012 ISK.
Knowing that a real cigarette box, in my country (spain) is worth an average of Ç4, we can set that:
--1 ISK = 3300 Ç--
This is only a relative price to make comparisions. For example:
A vagabond is worth approximately Ç330.000.000.000. Yeah, that's right, 1/3 trillion euros. Being the average nice city house worth Ç600.000, you could buy half a million houses in minmatar space, which would really, really help those poor homeless people.
Don't you feel bad about paying astronomic numbers for the ship you'll pop this weekend, when you could invest that money in the poor childs at the planets who will never step into a space vessel?

This is why capsuleers are the elite. We can afford to blow of several ships without caring about what it costs and who dies along with it. So why should we feel sad for the poor???

Well actually that maybe isn't too far odd the mark.
NASA's space shuttle (with capabilities somewhere between an in-game shuttle and an Iteron I) each cost around $1.7bn, or Ç1.1bn, or Ç0.11 trillion.
Of course the space shuttle is also designed to enter the atmospheres and this accounts for a lot of its costs. It should be less expensive to build a ship designed exclusively for space travel (like the ones in Eve).
Just out of curiosity I looked at the cost of Naval vessels, and found that HMS Ocean cost ú154m, or Ç195m, or Ç0.02 trillion. I'd say HMS Ocean was approximately the naval equivalent of a Vexor. But that's not really a fair cost comparisson.

Well, it's logical, since there are only 35.000 capsuleers, say 400000 if you count NPCs working at the same time in the whole universe. ---<---@ |

That needs an intensive training which involves a lot of money. Who's going to pay that?

What we need is a way to buy Cigs on Ebay and sell them for ingame isk. Then convert the ingame isk to Euros!
From there you can convert the euros' into USD and live like the rich!

Dude, entering the atmosphere is nothing compared to being fired upon by lasers, blasters, missiles and other less pleasant things.. Also, EVE ships need to be able to bump against capital ships, roids and stations..

There are plenty of people that invest in poor children (exotic dancers and homeless too). They sell them at at other stations so they can afford the ships.

I agree with the OP, I will forego the purchase of my next vagabond and instead spend it on 1,600,000 packs of cigarettes. For the children, of course. _________________ [IMAGE REMOVED] -- aka Cpt Bogus -- Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?

I'm sorry, but LOL! There's a lot more than 40.000 capsuleers in EVE. There may not be more online at the same time, but we are well past 200.000

As an inhabitant of Amarrian Providence, I approve of any investment in Minmatar children, as well as fully grown adults.
But you should really go explain your logic to some of the Minmatar corps.
Whenever I 'invest' in Minmatar 'employees' the matar corps start screaming something unintelligible about 'comminforarrpeeple' and before you know it some terrorist in a rustbucket battleship is trying to murder my 'employees' as they harmlessly go about their duties on board my ship.
Unfortunately there really is no reasoning with these people.
