Code would require that this exist in a version named and skinned for each race, but the stats would all be the same:
No hull bonuses.

lol, yeah. I was out of town last week and I'm still working on getting caught up.
As Velicitia said, there's no reason for this to be in the game (and, if anything, "Why not?" is a reason not to put it in the game). There are already frigs that can fill many roles, having a hull with the intent of having no purpose for it (see your completely even fitting stats and lack of any role bonuses) is just plain pointless. |

It has a purpose:
It is a baseline design that you add to and take away from to make specialized designs.
Drop slots, add bonuses. Drop hardpoints, add sensor strength (yeah, I forgot to put sensors on there). Add HP, drop agility (or vice-versa).
The raw version I posted above is dull and flavorless, but is it the *correct* dull flavorlessness for a baseline? |

Actually the part I love about this game is customization, so a super generic ship that can be anything I want kind of appeals to me.
That said, the ship specs you posted are far too good. It doesn't NEED a bonus having 4 turret slots on a gun boat is strictly superior to having 3 turret slots each with a 25% damage bonus that you had to skill up for. AND You want to give the boat 4 mids, 4 lows, and a single drone? It's too powerful, and your enemies can't even speculate what type of fit you have on it because it's infinitely variable.
While this is a silly threat because a ship like this would never make it into the game, I personally would approve of the concept if it was a
4 [Low Slots] 3 [Mid Slots] 4 [High Slots]
Ship with no bonuses, no drone bay, and only 3 Turret and 3 Missile hard points so that you'd have to split weapon systems or use a utility high slot, thus not stealing the damage role from ships that actually have damage bonuses. On the plus side, you have one more lowslot then a Rifter, for example, so if you wanted to alter this to make it a DPS frig you simply add a Gyro Stab to that slot.
To sum it up: I'm okay with the idea, your idea of balance is borked, it will never happen. |

So it's really just a dev tool to use as a comparison point for the other frigates as the yget rebalanced, and should never actually be put into the game? Ok then. Good idea. If I was a dev, I'd probly do just that. We are not devs. Why's it matter to us? |
