Edited by: Harry Sachs on 19/06/2008 03:45:46 Jita prices went from 60 to 90 in a couple of days.
EDIT: and no other minerals moved afaik, so the stupid answer I was given in help that "OH FW Will increase ship demand and isogen is in ships" is probably wrong
Oh, nocx looks like its inching up a bit too, but not by 50%.

edit: to elaborate somewhat, nocx would have been about twenty times better choice

Now that people have elaborated the OP makes a lot of sense.
I give it a month before most of the miners shift their mining habits. Incoming over supply of isogen.

Have you checked your math on all of the ores? Ores containing isogen might be **** already (I don't know that they are, but even with the price change they still might be).

Ok. I'm not the ore refining expert but here are the ore values based on median mineral values on a per m3 basis (as of a couple of days ago).
Omber 71.61 ISK Kernite 99.96 ISK
Kernite is marginally worth more than veld on a per m3 basis (assuming not selling to mission runners).

Was manipulated up to 130 afaik, Jita buys now at 75 so seems to have been a moderate success.

Wish I had some sitting around to sell to some suckers.
That said, the success or lack of success is entirely dependent on whether or not the individual or individuals involved happened to already sell all of their stock while it was in sky high land.

My guess is that someone bought the entire Isogen supply and put it back on the market at a 200% markup. A friend of mine mentioned seen Isogen for sale at 140 ISK. It is very risky to attempt such manipulation and it looks that the person behind it might have done well.
A similar situation happened with Megacyte a while back, where there was an attempt to bring the price of Megacyte over 4,000 ISK. Interestingly, Megacyte has remained high while Isogen continues to drop in price rather fast.
Attempting such manipulation on Noxcium will be extremely riskier as the demand for Noxcium is significantly less than the available supply.

Was there a really sharp increase in purchases at some point? I didn't notice anything odd myself.

check the price history graph, then the high low. highest was 80 av it looked like.
graph is too steep, suggesting it'll not last long imo - could be wrong.

Short term manipulation... there is just too much supply. Other mins are not responding to the corrected basket level. And volume moved only marginally increased.
It'll go back down. |

I promise you that whoever tried it did not make out so well. Perhaps they made a little bit, but not much I'm quite sure.
