I have a quick question for the following ship, i've heard people use heavy missiles over HAM's, ignoring the ships bonus to these missiles. What advantage does this give, and how badly does it effect your dps?

people who nano fit the sac use heavy missiles for the range but on tank fits i use HAM
5x ham, 1x random
mwd, point, web, inj
2x mar, 2x ean, dcu
2x rep rigs
nano would be something like this:
5x heavy missile launcher, 1x random
mwd, point, 2x lse
3x od, 2x random (pdu if needed and mybe BCU)
2x poly rigs.
dunno if that fits... but i think all of the nano fits are somewhat like that
EDIT: forgot to answer your question.
heavy missiles give you range advantage but your dps goes down as they have slower rate of fire

Thanks for the help, I was thinking of going for a nano setup to use in some 0.0 solo roaming, if I went for the heavy missiles over hams, obviously my targets would be a little more limited to what I could realisticly kill.
Am I right in thinking that a nano heavy missile setup should steer clear of anything the size of a BC and larger? Or can that setup still challenge the larger ships normally found in 0.0?

you should be able to break ratters whit heavys tbh if you use right damage type

just pick a dmg type that isnt used by the rats in the system -> profit!
