So, i started playing eve last night, but i feel i kind of F-ed up, and now i have like 50k isk left, and i fitted the ships with crap guns (3 missile launchers on the last ship that i got, it seems that i'm firing 3 shots a minute or so. So the question would be: is there any way for a new character to get like.. 1 mil isk real fast? Thanks!

Yes, completing missions. When I started i made 1 mill isk y the first 2 or 3 days, just completing missions.

Edited by: Raito22 on 19/06/2008 15:25:49 My point was: it's hard for me to complete missions, because of my ship's setup. it seems to fire those rockets real slow, making it difficult for me to kill a large number of opponents at the same time (and the missions are all about this, from what i've seen)
edit: yup but i've spent that money on complete crap: like 3 rocket launchers, that i later found out i need skills for

Mine enough to get a decent frigate. While you're mining work up you skills in Electronics/Engineering/Gunnery/Navigation/ and (uugh) Missiles if you must. Just get skills to 2 or 3 for now. That will allow you to complete the 10 part mission. It is really important to get your support skills up. Boom, 1 million ISK. While you're at it get Salvaging, 2-3 Trit bars will get you a million as well.
When you do the missions don't feel you have to stay till the bitter end. Leave the battle, rep up, and return. Take out one at a time if you need to.
You usually can mine enough with a rookie ship to get a decent frigate in a few hours. You should not loose a ship on level 1 missions (or any mission), so once you have a ship work towards better fittings.

Dont forget to loot the wrecks, bring the stuff back to base and sell or refine it. Dont just sell to anyone buying either, there are plenty of buyers that are buying at extremely low prices. Dont sell to them. Put up a sell order.

Finding a mining spot is easy. The trick is to look for low population systems on your travels with a station and a few belts. These are out there even with the large population of hi sec space. If you want extra security from ore thieves/ people harassing you id look into training astrometric's so you can use probes to find hidden asteroid belts ( Gravimetric sites ). These have all the benefits of a fully laden asteroid belt but with no one to bother you unless someone else finds you with probes.
Something to look into in the long run. Plus it'll only take you a few weeks to get a medium barge if you really want some good mining. Good luck!

you only need to mine a few loads to make enough to get you into a better frigate. most races have a mining frigate like the bantam which will boost your ore production. you should be into a combat frigate in a few days and burning up level 1 missions right away. i know for a fact that a noob char with his 800k skill points can do any of the level 1 combat missions. assuming of course he was a combat char when he was done up. if you can do level 1's and you just blitz through them you will make several million isk a day. another option is to learn to use a salvager and go to one of the cosmos complexes and just tidy up the first room. the salvage can be quite lucrative tho there is a chance of random death breaking out. if you consider that your salvage frigate is hardly more than a middling fair single salvage item you can guess how lucrative that is.
