Why oh why do ships have a larger drone carrying volume than the bandwith? For example, 50 bandwith, but can carry 150 of size in drones?
Secondly, the Modual that allows extra drones is only for the (BIG HONKING CARRIERS), not the ships 99% of ships that can carriy drones we have?
Explain please. Thank you.

So you can carry more (read spare) drones
The extra drones mod only for carriers is so for pure game balance reasons. and to cut down on lag.

Because your enemy can very well destroy the drones you have out, and if you don't have extra space you can't carry spares.
You can only have 5 drones out at one time.
Bandwidth limits how big those drones can be. If you only have 50, it limits it to medium drones.
And dronebay capacity gives you options / spares. You can carry 5 medium thermal, 5 medium explosive, 5 light kinetic, 5 light thermal, 5 ECM, etc. and just launch whatever fits the situation.

every weapon system in the game has limits, why should drones be different?

Because if I could, I'd stick 6 of them on my dominix and laugh at anything that tried to fight me. You have no idea how imbalanced that would be

the visions of me flying my dominix and launching ALL the drones in my bay at the same time makes me tingle in a weird way.

Yes... I miss the days when you could launch up to 10 drones at a time. The nerf bat took that away... and an effort to combat lag, we were told. Was it the Red Moon Rising expansion? Anyone remember?

Why can't I shoot all 10,000 antimatter rounds I have in my cargo hold all at once in some sort of mega-volley of doom?
