Just getting ready to setup my own advanced labs but have a few Q's i cant seem to find the answers to in the guides.
To make proper use of all the power generated by the tower i was going to put up several labs, but as i cant use all of the slots was going to make some available to other players, can this be set to show up in the science and industry tab as a "public" slot so anyone not in corp could use it?
If not what is the best way about doing this, without forcing people to join an alliance or corp?
Do the researching bp's have to be in the lab themselves or can they be done remotely from a station nearby?

 You cannot make them a public slot
The only way for them to setup jobs is to be in the corporation or alliance.
You or someone in your corp could do the research for them. Typically you would offer collateral for their BPOs.
BPs can be in a station in the same system to do research. Any materials used in the research (mainly with copy and invent) will have to be in pos. Copies come out in the labs. Input materials such as reports or datacores have to be in the labs.

No. In order to have other players use the labs, they will need to be in the same corp or alliance as you.

They can be in any station in the same system, but you will need Scientific Networking 1. Note that further levels in that skill will NOT allow the blueprint to be further away, only the researching character.

ok thankyou for quick reply's. Guess will just diy it. Will be an added advert for the corp i suppose and not really ready to go alliance route yet.

There is an option that allows people with high standings towards your corp to use them
Can someone tell me if this can be done for people outside the corp or alliance?

It can't, you need to be in the corp/alliance to get the labs to show up on the S&I tab.

So you can limit lab usage. On occasion I have used that feature to isolate my labs to specific corps.
