dunno if anyone said this already but, one of the new musics that came with Empyrean age is not new at all.
Stellar Shadows is actually the first login screen music that eve had.

EVE has sound? haha, someone had to say it... no seriously, been playing since early 2004 and after 3 days of EVE sound I had already turned it off, havent looked back since. AT least until its updated. EVE as a game is a 10 out of 10, EVE sound, I rate a half ass 2 of 10. But thats fine. _________________________ CIVIL DEFENSE |

Oh ya.
A great great tune that I often play through mp3. Really sets the mood for EVE. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

I can agree that the music can get tiresome after listening to it day in and day out for years, but compared to music used in other games, online or not, it is rather good imo. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

He was referring to the sad fact that turning on sound reduces performance DRAMATICALLY on some peoples computers, not the quality of the music. I downloaded the music and play it OOG in WMPc, rather than take random bluescreens by playing it in-game.

I wish my music would STAY off. I keep the sound on but turn off jukebox because after 3 years of playing, I got bored with the same music over and over. I always turn off the music in games however good it might be.
Jukebox since the patest patch won't turn off. It keeps re-starting. even though I have the music volume turned down, I can hear the occasional sound from the music when a loud piece plays.
Yes, I have bug reported it

If you have the music volume at 0 you shouldn't be hearing anything.

And of course, if you're running Linux chances are your expensive soundcard won't run half the time anyway. :( Onboard sound FTL.

Nah.. More than likely one of the many many people who promptly turned off the sound after getting lagged out, discoed or having their ears bleed from the warping and jumping sound effects. The latest incarnation of eve sound is pretty good though. No crashes or lag and now my ears mearly throb painfully when I warp or jump.

Don't know why but eve has never completely muted the sound for me when you put the volume all the way down. It's not my sound card, it's happened on the last 3 computers I've had, 1 upgrade a year on average, and different sound cards every time.
I can hear very high frequencies very well, even ultrasonic alarm sensors drive me crazy, it's like a screwdriver in the ear to me. Maybe that's why I can hear these sounds that should be virtually mute, there are a lot of high frequency ambient sounds in the eve music, like a sound from tapping a glass with a spoon etc.
Anyway, there should be an option to turn off the music like there is in many games, not just turn it right down.

Well, apart from the Eve chronicles where you can find an explanation for this, you'd still hear even in RL a sound when
a big bad missiles hits your ship full frontal and makes the whole thing ***** and crumble. Doesn't matter if you're in space, when you are in that ship, you'll hear it.

tbh that seems a problem that plagues people with onboard sound most of the times.

I believe it was the login screen music up to the exodus expansion. ---

2 old, 2 new, 1 adapted? I quite like the new ones (particularly "On the Outskirts"), but I would question whether one of them is entirely new. "Paths of the Cursed" sounds like the Revelations theme except it's been made sad and wistful.

Anyway I can get "Stellar Shadows" as an MP3 from you? I'm also looking for "Path of the Cursed" if you happen to have it. Reason being I just want to lose myself in those songs.
