Edited by: Celeste Coeval on 21/06/2008 11:53:00 Low sec is revived, it has purpose, industry, massive isk sinks, opportunity and security.
Miltia's are policing space whether they realise it or not. People orbit gates on guard duty. They form fleets in the multiples achieving separate objectives autonomously. They respond quickly to situations and with eve voice integrated the chain of command is observed. As there are no stakeholders in the space other than your own interest, factional warfare is free from the bonds of 0.0 life and is radically different to the high sec war culture. Pirates have more targets. There is a real threat from miltias to pirates and yet miltias still remain alert to their potential risks.
There is salvage and ship loss everywhere:) Low sec is littered 23/7 with player loot. PvE and PvP have been blended in such a way as to make you not even notice the distinction.
There is a willingness to fight simply due to the fact that you wouldn't have signed up for it otherwise.
Thankyou CCP for an extremely well thought out expansion in terms of mechanics for player interaction within eve, it has bought the community together in a way 0.0 can and will not ever do.

I wonder if they even realized the full impact of FW in advance. Its like one-fit-all solution to a lot of game problems at once.
As far as I know, no dev has commented in the forums on the success of FW. Wonder what they themselfs think of how it has changed the game. Maybe they will give their views in a upcoming blog.
--- Its dead, Jim.

That would be impossible to do. As they have stated numerous times, no matter how much they think about what this random new feature could be usefull for, the players always comes up with several other ways of using it. I bet it's the same with FW - nobody could know that it would be like this on the first iteration. And who knows what the next parts will do to EVE?

Heh also I didn't mention they even included neutral high sec space...Ammatar mandate has no factional navies that attack either side:P

Now, to finally repair Eve for well and all...
... get rid of the annoying NPC corps!!! Whenever you jump corp you end up in the relevant FW corp for your highest factional standing (or you get a choice), period.
And limit newb schools to rank 3 skills and below, and max level 3 quality 10 agents.
Eve will then be well and truly repaired.

Maybe the same holds true for the systems controlled by CONCORD. Interesting. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

Sure, if you also make it so that joining a player corp is a matter of "right-click -> join", and forbid all this interview and invite-only malarkey…
…what? You mean that will cause problems? Well guess what: forcing people to play a certain way in a sand-box game is a much larger problem – the matter of a couple of corps accidentally getting destroyed is insignifcant in comparison.

It's really empty of either side though. I learned about all this when a lone PIE coercer tried to shoot me up while I was hauling minerals.
We agreed that a single Coercer can't kill a Mastodon, and that my call for reinforcements would perhaps be answered quicker this being 3 jumps from Rens and he told me, that he'd let me live for now.
Factional warfare is great.

That might actually be a bug since the Mandate is more or less a part of the Empire. Is Khanid the same way?

Not sure about Khanid as I haven't been out that way yet. I haven't tried the caldari-gallente equivalent either.
