Edited by: AltimusPrime on 22/06/2008 21:06:52 Basically i want to know peoples oppinions and why
i have been mainly looking towards an armageddon because of the fact that it has that massive drone bay for 5 heavy drones which can be switched out for different types of resistances which is nice
but the abaddon comes with a res bonus aswell as dps and also the apoc gets a bonus to range aswell as huge cap on it xD its hard to choose help me out here guys!
Cheers

Edited by: Leandro Salazar on 22/06/2008 21:15:08 If you actually want to earn money, run Amarr missions or use Caldari/Gallente ships. If you absolutely have to embark on the folly of using Amarr ships for Caldari missions, I would guess that the Apoc would be the best least bad choice due to the two launcher slots.
Heavy drones are summat sucky due to travel time, so the on-paper dps in the right damage type you get from the geddon is actually a lot less useful in reality.

This setup will tank every mission out there. Unless you do something dumb like kill kruul first in damsel in distress.
HIGH 6x Tachyon beam laser II
MID 4x Cap recharger II
LOW 2x Amarr navy Large armor rep II 3x Amarr navy EANM II 2x Capacitor power relay II
Rigs 3x Auxiliary nano pump I

And nano pumps instead of CCCs. I mean, Amarr ships are bad enough against Guristas even when fitted well, but this....

Armageddon High: 5 Modulated Tachyons (use less cap than T2 but same dmg) w/Amarr Navy Multi, 1 Tractor Beam, 1 Savager, 1 Drone Link Augmentor Middle: 3 Capacitor Recharger IIs Low: LAR II, DC II, EANM II, 2 Active Hardner IIs, Heatsink II or Tracking Mod II Rigs: 3 Auxiliary Nano Pumps Drones: 5 Hornet IIs, 5 Vespa IIs (Kinetic Damage)
With perfect cap skills you can run the tank almost indefinitely while firing. Your hardners will give you mission specific resists above 80% and you'll have an easy time with frigs and cruisers using your drones and increased drone range. I've used this setup in almost every Caldari Navy Level 4 mission and never went into hull or warped out - you can keep extra light and medium drones in the bay because you may lose some even if you're careful (lag/non-updating HP bars).
This setup requires perfect cap and repairing skills (excluding resistances), good drone skills (T2 scouts), and you'll want to train salvaging and peripheral BS skills to increase your payout/damage. If you have fewer skills and more ISKies, you might want to be safe and try the Abaddon, but the Geddon can certainly handle these missions.
Of course, I fly a kitted Paladin and Level 4's are just...cake

2 hardeners and a DC? I imagine you'll be much better off with a third hardener.

Edited by: Tyrael Primus on 22/06/2008 22:07:17 Mission specific hardners - usually rats do 2 types of damage, of course of their mercs then they'll do all types and you'll have to drop the damage/tracking mods for more tank.
The setup is tank oriented because if you can hold out against every rat in the room you can tear them apart over time - the cap will hold if you use hardners and rigs over a second LAR II (btw lol).

Lasers + Guristas = horrible frustrating waste of time.
Getting jammed sucks, not easy to tank, battleships tend to sit really far away so long-range, low-damage crystals are needed, and Guristas EM resists are really high.
I'd go with the Apoc, for the range, sustainability, and 2 launcher hardpoints, but really I'd just take a few days and train up caldari BS and cruise missiles for a raven.
Actually what I'd really do is take Amarr BS into Amarr missions and pwn __________________________________

This. (Navy) Apoc with Pulse Lasers. Btw. Amarr has lots of very good agents (L4 Q20 agents in high-sec..) and is generally less lag-ridden.

I would like to see anyone fail a mission in this setup...(with standard crystals I can run this 24/7)
I will soon get a paladin and drop this setup |

I certainly hope so because with only 6 guns and no damage mods, even with the Abaddon's damage bonus, it's going to take you forever to kill anything. __________________________________

For some people, spending 2-3 hours per mission in a apoc is normal. For Raven pilots, spending over a hour in any mission is very rare --

I've been running an Apoc for fun lately with 1 LAR2 and 3xhardeners, and the tank is fine so long as you are killing ships and not just trying to sit there and permatank it all. Dual LAR and no damage mods (with only 6 lasers..) is just silly. Then again, so is running an Apoc in Caldari space, so I'm not really surprised.

Ahaha *cough cough* haha... yeah I tried that with the amarr BS once.. fell asleep half way through. Definietly leave the gurista missions to the raven family.
