hey guys, i guess its about time i throw my 2 cents in... so let me take this moment to clarify a few things for everyone involved.
MASULA corp is 1 month old... we ARE n00bs so dont kid urself in that department. aside from the fact that the majority of our players havent experienced any PVP, the few of us that do not run from such threats of losing ships and getting podded, really dont want to invest what little money we have earned so far in a pointless ****ing match between old friends.
i use the term friends lightly... but considering the ONLY reason we have been targeted by ur BLACK MONKEY corp is past relations from HOMEWORLD and CATACLYSM . we know who u are DRUNK, and although ur motives for the war are questionable... we are very aware this game is full of risks, and that people like urself who choose to war with my corp for no other reason than to somehow redeem your short commings from another game.
what u fail to realize is that the very reason u choose to fight against me...(and my corp) is the very SAME reason that many other huge corps are now taking action to rid eve of ur antics. you claim that we fight back and hold our own... and to be honest, im flattered. but the truth , if it werent for my past homeworld connections, we would be having a much more difficult time defending ourselves. i only hope ur convictions can hold strong during these next few weeks, because the tru test for your corp members loyalty is at hand.
you should have known DRUNK, that picking on ol' momo would bring you trouble... sure, it may have seemed like a fun little war to u, however i dont think u thought this thru very well, but hey, ur young and hot headed as always, im im sure u just wanna thrill, god knows how many times u tried in homeworld. all i can say now is good luck. no hard feelings at all though, its all good fun... just remember to keep that in mind when the tables turn.
have some fun guys, ur friendly pinkness :)

I was gonna tell you guys, I totally made up that stuff about the drunk guy. On the first day of combat, I think it was with Hector, he asked us something about a drunk guy sending us and we basically played along.
Most of us have never played HW multiplayer.

How their past may have molded them does not absolve them of any crimes they commit which is my point. They still go to jail for it and I have yet to see a parent or schoolmate prosecuted and thrown in jail because something they might have done to potentially cause someone turn to murder/life of crime.
In short, you are responsible for your own actions regardless of how lousy you think others or life or whatever have treated you.

First off, even corpse wouldn't convince me, so you can forget about that. What I find odd is why you guys end up trying to justify yourselves. You obviously want to play the part of evil in the whole drama, so why do you need to justify otherwise? You keep trying to convince us otherwaise, and then start contradicting yourselves.

Due to a session of indescribable space love between momoguru, large-nutted CEO of Masula Corp - and the raging alcoholic reichsmarschal of Black Monkeys, Shevaun Ashnirelim - the war between the two factions is put on hold while the two parties exchange cooking tips and phone numbers for god only knows what.
Next war: Approximately 48 hours. Next victim: I don't know? I drink a lot.

Maybe a better title for this thread would've been
From Legend to Loser ... the story of HellGremlin
HellGremlin, who was once widely respected as a great roleplaying writer during beta. Who led a great corp into a forum war with another corp and ended up losing but still had his pride. HellGremlin of TAOSP who stood proud as Johnathon Pride handed over his sword if I remember the story correctly. HellGremlin who was once one of the most revered people in EVE. Heck I respected you and we were at war with you. I loved reading your stories theyre the stuff of legend.
Now reduced to a griefer. What happend HG? Your alot better than this. |

I have not read the original Black Donkey post, but If newbs are being podded as stated and leaveing the game, you can bet CCP will step in to curb it. I would think they would be watching thier turn over rate and new player statistics so's to retain players. Just my two isk.

Nice post ^^ I'd just like to say some people (me included) still respect HellGremlin for what he is. An evil evil man who writes totally awesome fiction.
Your post is historically pretty accurate, Johnathan Pride quit Eve shortly after that happened, Raid Enterprises were always an enemy of mine, so I paid close attention to the wars and events leading up to the finale you mention.
Only thing I see in your post I'd disagree with really is the title, seeing as I personally wouldn't call HellGremlin a loser.. Perhaps replace that word with Villain? Matter of opinion I suppose. I'm pretty sure that things aren't as simple as they may seem, should be interesting to see where all this goes. Complicated fella.
As to Black Monkey and their wars.. Griefing? Maybe. Evil? Yes. Something for GMs to interfere in? No. Provides a bunch of above average forum food for me to consume.. And an evil to combat. Fresh evil! Something to eradicate, a new enemy to fight.. Is it just me or have m0o gotten a bit boring ?
It's the responsibility of the players to respond to things like this. Not Concord, not Joves, not GMs. If you feel strongly about what Black Monkey Corp is doing.. Declare war on them.. Take the battle to them. See how well they handle what they dish out, don't just whine and petition and ***** until Devs change the code or GMs ban a bunch of people.
I wish the victims of Black Monkey Corp good luck, and if you ever need a hand dealing with this evil feel free to evemail me, I'd be glad on behalf of Star Control to provide advice, and perhaps even military assistance to those combating this foul blight upon the face of our galaxy.
PS. To those who enjoy reading HellGremlin's work check out the sticky post in Eve Library. He's gotten better if anything..

Hmmm?
I think ShambalaÆs comments here summed up this whole tragic affair:
Quote: HellGremlin, who was once widely respected as a great roleplaying writer during beta. Who led a great corp into a forum war with another corp and ended up losing but still had his pride. HellGremlin of TAOSP who stood proud as Johnathon Pride handed over his sword if I remember the story correctly. HellGremlin who was once one of the most revered people in EVE. I am one of those whom have been here since the alpha; I watch the whole ôEndless Corpö legend unfold before me. I watched epic forum characters rise and then fade into shadow as things changed. I watch the fears of the forum RP minority cry out as EVE slipped from closed beta into open, then to full release and the hordes of stampeding newbies overtook the place. One of the saddest things, I watched the old forums disappear and get replaced by these of new...loosing forever the "core" history of what had started the first mouldings of what is EVE.
Shambala spoke of respect towards the name that was HellGremlin, I would have to have agreed with this..."respect" is a word that I would have used also... but then it is known by all there are ways and methods of doing things. HellGremlin is/was no fool, there is always method behind his madness.
I would like to ôassumeö that some other reasons now lead this once strong and proud character down this path...
HellGremlin... if that is whom you truly are, would you care to tell us?

Why dont all those people who have a problem with what BM are doing just declare war on them to make their 'Griefing' so much harder? If you believe what they are doing is wrong, fight for those beliefs.

Edited by: Istvaan Shogaatsu on 16/05/2004 14:12:36 Of those of you who claim to have "lost respect" for me, I'd like to ask a question: What specific playing style would I, a villain and focus of hate from nearly day one, have to undertake to gain your respect?
Would it be... mining politely and building ships? Would it be... helping new players get accustomed to Eve Online? I do wonder why you feel I should spend fifteen dollars a month to play how you see fit. Now then, let's review what it is I did in beta to earn your esteemed respect.
- Wrote stories. Still doing that. - Committed evils. Definitely still doing that. - Started learning how to PVP properly. There's the one new item.
If your respect demands that I remain defenceless in-game, I'm afraid I simply don't want your respect. I was never a carebear, even back in the beta or any other game I played - if that's how you saw me, I'm sorry but you were mistaken. Rather, I never got the chance to develop any combat skills whatsoever until recently. Writing stories and RPing doesn't mean I'll confine myself to pacifist activities in-game.
See you out there.
edit: Oh, and have you ever known me to reveal anything early? Jeez.

We all fell from grace. I came in June to find that no-one knew my name. So, essentially, we all had to rebuild ourselves.
HG just recently came back, and he came back to a game that was very different to the game he had played before. In alot of ways, pre- and post-release EVE are two different games, both in-game and on the forums. Everything works differently, and while I had 9 months to adjust to the changes, many in Black Monkey are rediscovering EVE in alot of ways.
In EC, HG had the largest corporation in EVE to back him up. In Black Monkey, HG has a small band of murderers to back him up. As such, he plays the game differently now.
Also, since everyone seems to be writing biographies, here's mine:
My name is Sigurur -rnason. I'm 17 years old and I'm currently both between jobs and schools, although I start in my new job in a week and my new school next semester. I live with my father in a nice little apartment on the west side of Reykjavik, and occasionally my mother who happens to live one back yard away. My social life, because of my perpetual state of poverty (student), consists of thing that are free, like not drinking. Instead I try to get out at least every night and do something with my friends. I like to write fiction, although it's of completely different ilk to HG's behemoths. Two can be found in the library forum. I don't have a pet, seeing as I'm allergic to cats and I dislike dogs, but I don't make a practice of kicking them or small babies.

HG killing newbies has nothing to do with playing a villian. It is mean in real life. Thats the problem. If you can't see that you truly have lost touch with reality. If you want to play a villian ingame hey go for it there are plenty of ways to do it. But killing brand new players to EVE, players who end up quitting because of your actions, how can you be proud of that?
I think many of the old guard are right. Your a nutcase. In real life I mean. I remember when you left EVE how upset you really were because your writing wasn't as appreciated by CCP. While I may have fought you once I ended up working with you before you left. You were a villian but you were a decent humane one. Killing new players is never the right thing to do regardless of any story line.
If you want PvP experience and you want your crew to learn combat then negotiate a war with another corp using all frigates or all cruisers. Practice on Choaos like m0o did all those months. Get better decently instead of attacking newbies. I could care less if your new now thats besides the point. You relish forcing other people from the game. Thats the problem.
If you don't care about that then you really are nuts... and yes I would call you a loser.

I'm sorry to say that I don't know who you are, you don't know me or anything about me at all for that matter. Please stop speaking as though you are some sort of authority on all things HellGremlin. I truly don't know where you got that I "relish" driving new people out of game either.
I am a loser. And nuts. Good day.

Quote: " I truly don't know where you got that I "relish" driving new people out of game either."
Well you havent apologized or expressed any type of remourse for driving new players out of the game. That sure looks like relish to me. Then you talk about podding new players because people spoke up against your actions.
How do you personally feel about that? Not your character we all know hes a villian but how do you yourself really feel about it?
I believe you are a loser. I believe your a real life egomaniacal nutcase who strokes his ego any way he can. You attack brand new players to Eve and terrorize them until they quit? Do you not see a problem with that?
If you wanted combat there are plenty of corps geared toward combat. You couldve used your then good name and probably gotten them to agree to a war for training you. Instead you grief new players and drive them from the game.
Yes you are a loser. By the way I know alot about you we've dealt before. I know exactly why you left the game before. I think you know who I am too and what I found out about you the last time you played EVE. If you want to go down that street HG please let me know and I'll be happy to post it all right here in living colour. Keep in mind this is about the real you and not some "HG" persona you've so skillfully created then subsequently torn down.
Until then I'd tell you to get a heart but your an anti-social psychopath with no conscious in real life so it probably wouldn't help. Obviously your mother didn't love you or something.
I once had great appreciation for your sly manuevering in fighting RAID and TTI. When I joined you at TAOSP it was truly good times but now I don't even know you. We've talked HG (not just chat) and while you always played a role better then anyone else you've fallen from grace with these antics.
Instead I've lost all respect for you. We've stood both apart and together on the field of battle and honestly the HG I knew would never stoop to this. I guess I was blinded by loyalty. When all the others were saying you were nuts and anti-social and mentally ill I said "no hes just playing a role". But this newbie killing. These are real people trying a new game HG. They aren't even out of the free trial yet. There can never be a justification for griefing newbies.
Podding newbies. Pathetic. |

oh dear, i must have been sleeping when you posted this. what other reason would there be fore 2 frigates run from a Scorpion and a Moa. I must congratulate you on killing some of us though, mind you they were also only a month old char. meanwhile we dance all over your 3+ months old char with cruisers. so really, where is the big loss here.
p.s it seems that you're not even with Masula anymore. whats wrong, does the sight of 4-5 Incursus scare you?
