Well, apologies it was so long coming, but it took a while to settle in. This post is do describe what we're doing with Events, and how I want to improve them.
Firstly, we've started improving the internal processes used for event authorisation and deployment and as a result of this you should see more events, more frequently.
The next stage is to look at the style of events we are performing and work upon expanding them, a common misconception I believe is that when people hear the word 'event' they think of 'reward'. I do not believe this should be the case, events should not only be about the monetary value, but also provide for those of you seeking immersion within EVE, or simply of a bit of enjoyment.
With this in mind, I intend to expand the scope of our events, and also the type. I'll keep you all informed on this as we progress.
CCP's content team has kicked in, and I hope you've noticed this already - based upon the increasing amount of incidents within eve, both story related and otherwise.
Event notification seems to be the one thing everyone is concerned about, i.e how do you know about events.
Events occur in a variety of places, sometimes the producers recruit from local chat, sometimes they will use race specific channels - other times the hints to events will be in prior news broadcasts. The main point here is they can happen anywhere, at anytime - keep your eyes peeled and you'll notice things happening. I think plainly announcing there is going to be an event at X location at Y time is bad planning, and will ultimately lead to lots of people being upset so we won't be going down this route for pre-event notifications.
The last point i want to talk about is recruitment for the events team, as i've mentioned previously, we have processed the backlog of applicants, and now have various people at differing stages of application. You will hear back regardless of the results of your application, and soon we will be bringing a lot more actors onboard to assist with more events.
I think i've rambled on enough for now. If you need to contact me for anything in relation to events, you can email me at [email protected].

Indeed. Not so long ago I traversed the various regions of 0.0 space looking at who was holed up in each region - I seem to remember having a lengthly discussion with some of the FA ;)
We are looking at doing events for you guys, but its a touchy subject on how to approach them.

Nebulai- Many of the older players who have been tracking events for some time have been dismayed that nothing ever came of the "In His Image" arch. Since Handsome Red Stepped down no events have taken place involving the vermin of Valmu. When last we heard Commander Blight informed us that an ending would come soon. However, that end never came and many of us, who invested weeks or months killing sanshas feel a bit neglected. We were hoping for at least an ending. Otherwise events have been great!! ISD has been doing a fantastic job with new archÆs and I look forward to every coming log on. If you could respond to my inquiry as to past achks however, I would be very appreciative.

Only the FA?!?!?
I like them and all...and they are probably the only region currently not at war...um actually...nevermind.

Taken out of context I visited about 15 regional alliances off the top of my head, I only referred to them in that sense because I was talking to someone from the FA.
To clarify; we are looking at doing events for those of you regional alliances, however they need a lot more forethought and planning due to the nature of them.
