I found a slim one at a second hand shop for ú50.
I have never realy looked at the Playstation series of consoles, so I don't realy know if its worth it. A friend said it was worth getting just for FF7 and for ZOE..... thoughts?
Is it worth getting this (no plans for a PS3) or should I stick with my plans for a PsP?

Unless you know someone that has FF7 is going to let you borrow it is going to run you quite o bit of cash.
The games are quite cheep and there are some good ones out there. Just do not get upset if you get something and it sucks. I do no think it was put out on PS2, but if Morrowind: Elder Scrolls III was published for it, I would reccomend that.
Other then that I can say that I have gotten more play out of my X-Box. Then again I had Elder Scrolls for it and got the Ps@ 3 years later.

It's worth getting for MGS3.
There are good games, you just have to like the Sony style of game.
I got more play out of my XBox. But. MGS3. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

Final Fantasy VII, yes, as well as FF8, FF10. Metal Gear Solid 3, Great Game.
Zone of Enders, no. i played that game a while ago, for Ps2, it's a cool game, but you get to the end fast, and other then fighing inside a robot with wings, there isn't much more to do.
For those who like anime stily games, it's worth a try, but no worth getting a Ps2 just for that. _____ "Take everything you can, give nothing back." |

Went with a PsP in the end. To be honest I think its the better one, point in context im sitting on my bed writing this through the things browser as opposed to my comp. Takes a while to type things though.

you forgot FF12 FF9 is good too, probably second favourite after 7. but 7 8 & 9 were all PS1 games.
I bought a PS2 a while back for ú50ish just to play FF10 & 12

Final Fantasy VII is the best!!!! /fanboi off
Yeah, it's worth it. Or, you could download an emulator (although PS2 ROMs are somewhat harder to find). ---

Been a while since iv'e played ff7, but trawling the net, from what iv'e seen, you might want to look at pc version with the patches and graphical upgrades.
fantastic game anyway, it's one of those games im glad i found the time to play through to end, you won't be disapointed, great story and mood setting to the game that pulls you in.
I don't think iv'e dragged in to a game that deep since, maybe morrowind
Getting a ps2 wouldn't be a bad thing though, you can pick up just about any game for around a fiver, and there's a fair few well playable good and great games... look on ebay for a cheap console:) ______

Edited by: P''uck on 24/06/2008 14:59:25 i liked Final fantasy somewhat up to part 7. part 7 was really great imho, and if youre not a graphics ***** it still can be fun. if you never finished it, that is.
in my book everything that came after was luke warm teenage manga diarrhea.
same goes for metal gear solid. part one (as well as the virtual bonus mission disc) was decent, if not great. the latter parts, again, *** as can be. and i dont even dislike homosexuals. but the successors to metal gear solid were *** like a priest in spandex. (seriously? raiden? or wtf "SNAKE EATER"? why not "Gloryhole: Snake Eater"? dunno about part 4 tho, but yeah its not ps2 anyway)
funny enough, both games, FF7 and MGS1 were PS1 titles
somehtign that was always worth playing was Gran Turismo. I think part 4 is the latest on the ps2 and has the nnrburgring in it, which is very nicely done. im a sucker for tuning cars in gran turismo, i just cant help it. even if it lacks crucial readout tools.
oh, and i REALLY enjoyed Tenchu, but i wouldnt call it exactly a good game.

Final Fantasy 7 Devil May Cry God of War (!!!) God of War 2 (!!!!!!!!) Shadow of the Colossus Metal Gear Solid 3
'nuff said tbh
ofc it depends on what kind of games you like. but u cant rly go wrong with a ps2 if u r not a complete graphics *****.

ZOE1 is only good if you consider it as a prequel to ZOE2.
other than that, FF12 is good, and there are some gems that you might like it.
(onimusha series were good, FF7 you need a PS1 memcard to play btw, God of war 1 and 2 were awesome gorefests of greek propotions (see what I did there? ), and there are some RPG's that are good, if you're into JP-type rpg's like suikoden 5). ---

FF7 is worth it in my opinion (and FF12), I got that, a PS2 and a PS1 :). BTW, search the interwebs a bit and you may find FF7 cheap as I did a few years back ;)
