Question for you all.
If I get a second account and train up a character to say Manufacture. In say 6 months, I stop paying for that second account but transfer that character to my other account as my second alt?

If I understand what you are asking... you want to train a character on a second account, then transfer that char to your main account when done training.
Yes you can, but remember that you can only transfer a char from an active account to another active account. So you will want to make sure that you transfer before the subscription on the other account expires.

yes, that exactly it. its just my wife would flip if i had two full running subscriptions in this game. so i would only pay for a second long enough to get decent manufacture skills and then transfer it over to the first primary paid account and run it as the second alt.
is this OK to do?

Completely ok. When you transfer, you will have to pay 20 dollars one time charge for the transfer service. Otherwise it is perfectly ok and supported by the game.
As for having multiple subscriptions, look into earning enough isk to buy GTC to pay for your subscriptions. I currently have 3 accounts, with all their time paid up until october all by paid for by in game isk buying GTC.

how do you buy GTC with ISK, where do you do that??

FUDGE ME.
GTC for ISK is bloody expensive. i only have 80 mill and i have been playing for months. cant afford to do it this way at the moment. thanks all for the help though.

Yeah new username and password,
Its also worth syaing you can't run to chars on the same account at the same time (play or train) So once your done learning and xfer it to the same account as your main, only one of them chars can train or be logged in at the same time.

that bit i understand as its the whole cant train simultaneously with 2 characters on the same account that led me to want a second payed account.

I run level 4 missions, and net about 10M ISK an hour on average - this includes salvaging, and a once-a-week run around the local constellation to sell large laser and artillery turrets to the highest bidder.
