The scam were you invite someone to your gang. then kill him with another character from a corp that has wardeced your first character. Does this still work?

Indeed there is. A and B are pirates at war with each other. C is their npc-corp friend. C remote reps A and B. C waits outside station. C asks someone to remote rep his armor etc. Victim who remote rep'd C now blinky to A and B.
OK, so it doesn't have the same magic as warping them to a gank safespot, but I'm sure you could do something with that too. |

I'm just going on the assumption that, if people were stupid enough to join random fleets in the age of lofty, they'll be stupid enough to remote rep someone post-lofty.
BTW, do this on a gate, instead of at a station, and they have nowhere to run |

Nicking their level 4 loot in a frig, getting aggro and coming back in a battleship seems to do the trick. Works for Psyk

I think the whole, taking this out of the game deal, was a bit much.
I mean if you're stupid enough not to read the "this corp is at war and you can be shot at" message before joining a gang with someone you don't know, you should die horribly.

The proliferation of the Lofty spelled the end of my chat channel "Helpful Sam". Nobody trusted that help was all that sam offered. Now I think I may bring back helpful sam and help out the runners who bit off more than they can chew.

I think this whole, talking out of your **** deal, was a bit much.
I mean, if you are stupid enough to comment on something that you obviously don't understand, you should die horribly.
And just for your edification, the "Lofty" as it has become known (although he didn't start it) uses the gang mechanics in such a way that the particular warning, that you are suggesting people are stupid enough to click without reading, is never presented to the victim.

Never got kill this way but I feel it is a good fix to faulty game mechanic in the first place. Must be sad when you want to flex your PVP skill and the best you can come up with is trying to trick some stupid mission runner. |

Fixed. In my experience, the ones who really like PVP and nothing else don't even train any mining skills and even whine whine their starting skills included mining level 1.
I used to have fun taunting a guy in one of my old corps by fitting up a mining Brutix (even used a Megathron once for extra sauce) then asking him to come help me kill some rats. He'd take one look at what I was doing and threaten to blow me up himself .

that first one describes me quite well. even at a crappy yield I can still mine though
and you are right to say that most miners can't pvp, but saying it in a more absolute manner is way more fun

I agree with Smantha, it'll get people helping each other again; though I never understood why being in a gang with someone who's at war makes you a war target in the first place.
Also, lol @ General Hawke.

Guess not, only time I ever had it happen to me was when some dude was sitting on a gate and every trip I made passed him he'd invite me to his gang, it gave me the info that he was at war with someone and I could be shot at.
Didn't think or know it was any different from that.
