Heimatar Region ME Research Service
Tired of month-long ME research queues? Want to research that very-special BPO? A new research corp in the Heimatar region is offering ME research by contract!
How does it work?
- You purchase the BPO you would like to be researched.
- Contract the BPO to me (Cora Yin) anywhere in Heimatar region high sec for 90% of its market value. The 10% remainder is your "earnest money." Contracts for more than 90% of the market value of the BPO will not be accepted.
- Note either in the contract or in a separate EVEMail what your desired material level (ML) is. Each ML costs 2% of the market value of the BPO.
- Once the research job is complete, I will contract the BPO back to you for the cost of the research plus the amount I put down for the BPO. For instance, if the BPO's market value is 1M, and you are receiving 20 levels of material research, I will contract the BPO back to you for 1.3M, which is 900k (what I put down on the BPO) plus 400k (2% of 1M times 20).
- IMPORTANT Jobs costing less than 100k are subject to a 10k ISK surcharge to cover the contracting fee.
Example Pricing
BPO costs 1 million ISK, you want 30 levels of ME research.
Contract to us for 900k.
We contract back to you for 1.5M (900k plus 2% of 1M times 30)
BPO costs 100k ISK, you want 20 levels of ME research.
Contract to us for 90k
We contract back to you for 140k (90k plus 10k contract surcharge plus 2% of 100k times 20).
FAQ
What is the "market value" of a BPO?
However much NPC corps are selling it for. If you bought the BPO from an individual, do not use that price. Look up the sale price for the BPO on the market.
How do I know you won't steal my BPO?
We're putting down 90% of the BPO's value as collateral to you. The remaining 10% is your "earnest money," declaring that you are serious about paying for the ME research. By paying for your BPO at close to its market value, we are taking a greater risk that you'll not buy back the BPO once it's researched (in which case we'd have to try to sell it to someone else, probably at a discount) than you are taking that we'll steal it. Plus, I imagine people will post on this thread if we scam them.
I am still not sure how much XYZ levels of ME research will cost me.
Just EVEMail me specifying the BPO you wish to research and the number of ML desired, and I will email you back a quote.
What if I contract the BPO to you for more than 90% of its market value?
Contracts for more than 90% of the BPO's market value are not accepted. Market value is defined as the current selling price of the BPO from NPC corporations. We will accept less than 90% of market value, but of course that is more risk to you.
What is your typical turnaround time?
All contracts will be processed in the evening, US central time. If we have free ME lines, turnaround should be the evening after you place the contract plus the time it takes to do the ME research itself. If you wish to know if we have a backlog and how long the backlog is, EVEMail me (Cora Yin) before placing the contract! If we have an especially long backlog, or I expect to be unavailable to install your job, I will attempt to contact you before accepting your contract.

Up to 2 lines are available depending on backlog.
We do not do PE research, but the lines for public PE research are a lot less crowded than for ME.
