More than half the systems in EVE are 'cut-off' from the majority of players. There are only about 10 or 12 routes into 0.0 space from Empire space and you can almost gurantee most (if not all) of those routes will be camped by player-killers. This makes it almost impossible for newer players, solo players, and players who are part of smaller guilds to explore beyond the boundaries of Empire space.
A handful of PK's are dictating to the vast majority of players where they can and can't go. There should be more than 10-12 routes into 0.0 space - you want people to stop strip-mining Empire systems and want more conflict out in 0.0 but make it almost impossible to venture 1 or 2 systems beyond Empire borders before being ganked by player-killers.
To make the map where at least 2 or 3 thousand systems are only reachable through a dozen or so 'choke points' is a weak way to FORCE players into PvP - whether they like it or not.

Okay, I'll submit my application to join the Stain alliance. Are they taking applications atm? and once I'm a member will I be allowed to explore their space?

It's not "their" space... Space belongs to everyone.

Use instajumps while they last. And chokepoints are not as frequently camped as you paint them to be. -

How can instajumps be removed, they're just bookmarks. Are they going to remove bookmarks all together or what?

15km warp exclusion zone around gates and stations would do it, the code is there for mobile warp disruptors.

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 16/05/2004 15:46:27 pff, insta wont go anytime soon, as they are the best way to run bloackades quite safely.
And abut the whole 0.0 access discussion: it'l gooten old by now, stop it and loook up the old threads. You present nothing new in way of arguments.
Anyway, there's nothing for you in 0.0 anyway. You would be driven back to empire in no time unless you group up. And these groups is what we call alliances. Deal with it.
Oh, and I find you calling me a pk offensive. PLease edit your statement. PK's are seen as griefers. I kill for a reason: protection of investment and territorial claims, not for fun (only). anyway, if you want a pk free area stay in empire. 0.0 is full of nasty people that wont show any hesitation in shooting before asking.

This just isn't true, there are things that newbies can do in 0.0 and places where they can do them without getting shot at much. I've met more than a few <1 month old characters in 0.0 who are running missions or hunting NPCs at some of the easier POIs and belts.

As a miner, hauler, trader, builder and (last not least) "player at the brink of PvP" i must say: there are enough ways into 0.0 - the problem is the balance of power between the gate campers and the other players.
Insta Jumps are a suitable way to avoid some trouble - if you think ahead, plan your moves well and are not lazy. They help only if you jump out of a system - and so there are enough chances for gate campers to catch their prey.
Removing InstaJumps would destroy this balance of power. If CCP would do this, there would be less trafic in 0.0 then today.
So you lazy gate camping pirate care bears stop whining about InstaJumps and learn to deal with them as the rest of the EVE community has to learn to deal with you.

As I already stated in previous threads, you are happilly enjoying CCP artificial protection.
You and all your supporters have been unable to justify the existence of those choke points for another reason than "they help me get a fat wallet".
Continue exploiting the current map and it's choke points as much as you can, to your own profit.
So, go on, pour thousands tons of "noob/carebear/whiner" trash over everyone complaining about this.
Just keep in mind this thing : your best protection is not your skills, neither your money, neither you gameplaying abilities, neither your alliances, neither your friends, neither your "foruming".
Your best protection is CCP.
You would be obliterated if your choke points were removed, and you probably understand it very well.
You are exploiting a system wich was designed for less than half the current population.
Call me noob/carebear/whiner as much as you like.
I'll just call you exploiter.
Best regards.

Kelly Kumari,
HIVE - who have no wish to be part of a major alliance manage to break through the blockades using insta-jumps (which is about the only way to enter 0.0 space during peak times).
Also blockages are not as frequent as you proclaim. The Pirates will only block if they have a critical number. Basically larger than 5 pilots on average, getting that amount is not always possible for them.
Once you break passed them, always watch your map pirates will try to find your "blob" and and kill you there, use the map to find incomming blobs.
Lastly, i encourage all empire corps to have a "combat fund". Once every two weeks equip up your corporation with cheep equipment, go to CURSE region and blow as many haulers and mining operations as you can manage :).
CA are very destructive to the game and need to get broken up. There like the EVE equivelent to Microsoft in the real world.

All the more reason to get rid of them I'd say.
It's not necessary to have insta-jump bookmarks. Planing the time of travel and looking at the map is sufficient. I travel several times a week to/from 0.0 space, in anything from indies to battleships, and managing blockades is part of the fun.
Anyway the blockade keepers response to insta jumps is simply placing 'catcher' ships with really fast lock times on the other side of the gate. | Join eve-webring.com to promote your site. |

lol
The obly reason you have that space is because you were there first and have so must money(greed) that newer corps dont stand a chance in opening the area up or dealing with the corps there.
Get rid of the choke points, get rid of the whose in space feature.

Im a pirate, so when you refer to pks its to people like me
Thats fine, what isnt fine, is the fact that you believe that pks camp these gates all the time...the power of these choke points switches from pirates to alliances to bounty hunters all the time, and most of the time there is hardly any1 there.
I jump from empire to non empire all the time and with a little bit of forward thinking you can avoid these camps....but as I have said on previouse threads like this one, if you do not have the wit to get in, you deffinitly do not have the witt to survive very long.
More entry points would work in my favour, but that id make it too easy for every1 and imbalance the game.
Games are meant to be challenging thats part of the fun..especially in mmpogs.
If you do not want the challenge fun and excitment, stay in empire as 0.0 will not suit you, we have our fun, you have yours

I would make a new post every week to get rid of Map scanning in 0.0 space, but deap down i know thats not a ccp priority, however much i think it is :(
alliances should actively scout there space regularly (like every other stratergy PC game). Well its not required in eve because of the Extreamly Powerfull map functions making control rediculously easy.
What ever happened to the FOG of war.

I think instas should go, but at the same time more entry routes into 0.0 space should open. This is not only fair, but i think sensible, too. ________________________________

ROFL @ Vice...
Mate they are NOT going and the reason for this is that there is a way around them for the pirate... namely the deployable warp field scramblers.
When CCP tried to add the 15km warp exclusion field around every gate there was so much anger at how it would slow down travel even more that they scrapped it totally.
Instajumps are here to stay... and they dont screw the game up one bit! It's just advanced navigation technique!!!! -------------------------------------------

Devs! There's enough routes already! It's laughably easy to get through a gate camp if you're equipped well. The only thing you need to watch for are mobile disruptors, and they're not up very often. Most of 0.0 is 'claimed' space, so your choices are to 1) take the risk and go in freelancing (and i've seen many a freelancer mining Ark in 'claimed' space successfully) or 2) join up with an alliance (or get some kind of pass or agreement with them).
Risk is part of 0.0, there will be no carebearing out here. Either risk the gate camps or stay in empire.
