I have been experiencing a docking bug lately where if I choose dock from somewhere in space (so it has to warp me to the station first, then dock me) that the dock fails sometimes. I just grumbled along and didn't mind, but it got me killed last week because I had to quickly leave my computer to address guests that arrived at my house, so I used the above docking method, made sure I went to warp and left my computer. When I came back, I had been killed and podded.

This happens once in awhile for a long time now, I always make sure I see it dock up if I need to go afk.

yeah, this happens whenever your warpin lands you at 0m from the station.
the autodock function that follows the warp apparently looks for a range change from nonzero to zero to initiate dock, and if this never happens, you never dock.
It didnt used to be like this, this bug was introduced sometime back, but its been awhile now, at least a year iirc.

yeah i find this can happen when trying to just "dock" at a station. It's caused me quite a few ships as well, So now i just warp to the station at 0 first and then dock. cuts out the possiblity of a **** up

Yeah, I have since gotten word from the BH team that this is a known issue.

this bug has existed for ages, and it appears to happen when u land around 300m from the docking range. i think the client tries to dock from that distance but the server denies it so instead of trying again it just approaches the station

most bugs are kept a secret so that players can not use the bugs for exploiting or for haveing any proof that ccp knows while petitioning.
this bug got a mate of mine a lg crystal set from a hauler that was doing a docking for 2 hours ;P

there are still loads of bugs and exploits out there and i know many of them. but ccp will always tell you there is nothing wrong and that they cant read logs.
this bug got a mate of mine a lg crystal set from a hauler that was doing a docking for 2 hours ;P
your mate got the lg set because the hauler clicked docked and then went afk, without staying around to verify he actually did dock.
if you fail to autodock, clicking the station and selecting dock will always work. You could argue that its annoying needing to sit around and verify that you dock, but as I live primarily out in 0.0, and bubbles can always stop you well short of dock range, I supposed im just used to this and always wait until im in the station.
Its a bug. It needs to be fixed. One could argue its of a lower priority than other bugs...but its been around for so long it should really have been fixed by now.

There was a topic of this already and a dev said that they know about the bug. Something about game trying to do events in wrong order. But with the forum search being what it is I can't be bothered to find it.

Just want to say that i have experienced this bug since revalations releases. Maybe even before.
And i have also lost a ship on this bug
