Need some advice guys (and gals)
Was mucking about and decided (for a laugh) to scramble and web a gang member. Kinda though that was OK but no, CONCORD arrive and reduce my stabber to particles.
Yeah it was insured and my gang mate got about half of my modules back from the loot can but I'm down about 1Mil for insurance on a new ship.
Was I wrong to think that you could do what you liked in a gang or have they changed something recently?
I was thinking about doing a petition but want to get my facts straight first

Ok I think I solved it - we used to be in the same corp, not now, Doh!

Yup, that's the reason... gang or not doesn't matter, you aren't allowed to shoot a gang member...

I did worse once 
I was in gang with some MF ready to attack some corp we were both at war with. I asked to a MF member if i could test my dual 425mm on him  (I was in my new shiny tempest). I tried, didn't see the message of agression. Then I asked to test 2 Noseferatu (small coz heavy were not ingame). I tried, I saw concord message with concord warping in 
I was like "w00t" so I mwd away (safespot) and docked at a station 
It was the second time in the same night... First time I had confused some pilot with red stuff around him with a pilot of the corp we were at war with... I ganked his indy and saw sentries firing at me :P I managed to escape low on armor, docked, when i undocked I saw a concord fleet warping in, so I redocked.
This is how I wasted a full night with stupid things

attacking a gang member your not at war with and aint in corp with is the same attacking anybody in empire
lost my first scorp this way 
Who needs a shovel when you have a nice big cannon?

At least you only lost a Stabber. Some people have lost BSs like this. (Not me, though.)

Thanks for all the responses. Just to clear things up it was because the person I shot used to be in my corp but I left a week or so ago. (Not that it was a bad corp at all, just because I needed to do my own thing really.) I'm back in my noob corp now. I had confused being in a gang with being in the same corp. I'm confused a lot of the time
The really funny part is that I'd escaped from an interceptor and 2 of his mates about an hour before in a .4 system having taken only shield and some armour damage. I flew back to repair only to start mucking about and loose the darn ship to CONCORD.
Still it was funny while it lasted.

That's nothing...I was monitoring the Bazaar channel yesterday I thin, and somebody did you one better. He (name withheld) was heading to NAGA's homebase to get his new Crow, and sees Freewheeling sitting outside. Apparently unaware that it's an aggressive act, he sensor dampens him. BOOM! One ship down. He docks and gets in his new Crow...and promptly undocks. BOOM! Owned by the aggression timer.

I did something similar to that once. I had just returned to a station after hunting for some convoys with some corporation friends (before the sentry gun change to 150KM), and before I docked I saw a convoy. All of us were unsure whether or not I would be attacked if I fired on them, so I did, and my only Thorax which I did not have the resources to replace was destroyed. I docked in my pod, then left the station again in a Probe to pick up the modules that I could, and I was blown away a second time.
That was the second Thorax that I had lost to stupid decisions on my part.
