I have been trying to from a Shuttle Museum in the Misneden system.
It had been going very well and several people had donated well named Shuttles to my little museum.
It was meant to be for good fun and just be a place to see when one one passing by.
Well, someone obviously did not think highly of my idea since just now I have noticed that it has been completely destroyed by an unknown party.
A somewhat sociopathic player seems to have taken the trouble of boarding all the Shuttles and letting the sentries blow them up.
What do you say people? Is it acceptable behaviour to destroy other people's dreams just for spite?

completely fine by me.
its just a game, no need to get overly upset by losing shuttles. hell why would you get upset over shuttles anyway?
they are shuttles, super cheap ships.
not to mention, no offense, but it seems utterly dumb to make a "museum" of shuttles. there are only 4 races anyway.
just get on with, hopefully, enjoying the game instead of sulking about a ship that you shouldnt be sulking over in the first place.

I won't even comment on the previous poster, but yes it is a shame that people got together and started making something ingame and someone felt the need to wreck that effort.
It isn't so much about how misguided the idea may have seemed, or the worth of the shuttles here, it was something that people might have flown past someday and smiled. No the issue isn't how sad are people for collecting shuttles, the issue is how sad is someone to be unable to leave it be.

Don't you just hate teenage joyriders? Or even people who measure their importance on how much greif they can put on another? I don't even know whether to feel angry with people like that or just pity them for having to stoop so low to put some satisfaction in their life... 
/me agreeing with a Gallente? I'll have to drink loads of StarsiÖ cans to make up for that!

thats a shame, i was planning on slidding by and taking a look at it tonight too.
Ill tell ya what though, ill slide by, and start off on the first piece of it again if its not there already. This time lets make it bigger and better than last time.
Also just a note, maybe if you place it by a planet, then it might end up lasting longer.

It's not the value of the shuttles. It's the fact that they were there on display, and someone decided to vandalize them.

Think you totally missed out on the point in all aspects of the post and the idea behind the shuttle museum.

Chances are every gankster out there will claim museaum status for parking 100 shuttles at the gate, for the sake of spacefarers everywhere this little project had to go.

Each shuttle is worth 2000isk to destroy (basic insurance stuff) and i am often cleaning them up around the place if i happen to pass one... obviously 2000isk aint enough to go totally out of your way for, i am just a bit fussy about cleanliness
However if i see that many shuttles than i can tell it aint just abandoned... destoying them is just totally mean.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

I do realize that there are only four different types of Shuttles and that they are worth little.
The point of it was that each person just put one Shuttle there and gave it a funny name. I know that some of the people came 10+ jumps to add to the collection and I would like to thank them all for the effort. Some of them had really original names
I admit I was a bit mad when I wrote the first post and I still am.
I am still wondering whether I should start up again. I really want to and still think it was a good idea but I fear it will end the same way sadly.
Well, I guess I will try again and hope that decency will overcome malice

Well, I have been convinced of restarting the Misneden Shuttle Museum.
I will have it outside of sentry range this time and see if that, plus the name of the first Shuttle: "The Shuttle of Doom", will deter evil doers.
Drop by with you aptly named Shuttles and we can build it up again

I'm sorry but how is the idea great?
There are 4 shuttles in the game and if he have had many more and on display he could've easily had them in station showcasing it to passers by asking for the complete view via a trade window or him performing some aviation show for those not having seen a shuttle in space before...
This is just him wearing a huge 'kick me' sign and short of sentryguns protecting these rare 4 makes of shuttle they will be molested again.
I feel a need to state that I have better things to do and have never even been in that system so don't come running with torches in this direction the next time this happens...

You are missing the point. It has never been the objective to "collect" all four different shuttle types.
It is more like "collecting" people since each Shuttle shows the name of the player who put it there and also usually a funny name they made for it

Styrmir, one uniquely-named (but distinctly average in every other respect) shuttle on it's way to the new museum when I'm next in-game.
