Hey I'm just curious to see if npc farming still works....I've been trying to get a good spawn to make some isk and up my security status but I can't get them to spawn faster than 15 minutes in between spawns? I have been leaving one rat alive....what am I doing wrong? the BIG L Public Relations Director of Extintion Enterprizes |

try high level spawns....
I was soloing Sanshas BS today and found that one time waves kept coming in even before I had the chance to kill every member of the wave.... it was like a weird battle for the loot... 3000 rounds of Thorium L later and 6 Sansha battleships I finally got to open the cans X_X ...

Yes spawns are alive and well, and often can over whelm you in time,, so give it 15-30 minutes and pick as large an intial spawn as you can find to farm.. oh and bring lots of ammo to the party

Edited by: Sitar on 17/05/2004 15:37:14 Im new to farming and have not been able to do so yet. Here are a few questions I have. 1. Do you have to do any damage to the one remaining? 2. Do you or can you leave the belt with the one remaining? 3. Do you just run around in circles avoiding the one remaining? 4. Is there any tricks to be learned to do an effective farming?
If there are some secrets that you dont want revealed here on the forums please contact me in game.

1. Do you have to do any damage to the one remaining? No
2. Do you or can you leave the belt with the one remaining? you can leave the belt just as long as you are back before the spawn gets bored and leaves...but why would you leave the belt?
3. Do you just run around in circles avoiding the one remaining? If you can't survive just the one shooting you, how are you going to survive the entire spawn?
4. Is there any tricks to be learned to do an effective farming? chain a spawn which has frigates in it also, keep on of the little frigates alive as your pet. pick a spawn to chain that isnt too big for you and a few steps below the maximum size/strength you can kill outright. When the spawn gets rolling they'll be coming at you fast and may overwhelm you if you fall behind. Fit your ship for endurance: high cap recharge and tanking

Apparently if you kill too many too fast now its an exploit

If your setup is good another thing to do is leave all the frigates alive if you can survive them hitting you. Then when the spawn gets going just kill the cruisers and battleships. If you do it this way all the cargo cans except about 10 of them will be cruiser/battleship drops. Save's having to sift through lots of frigate drops.

Was chaining a heavy spawn in 0.0 last night, we had 5 bships. We could barely keep up, and finding time for ammo reloads was tough. A new set of rats was spawning every 10 seconds or so
