I have not played EVE in over a year, and I have a question:
Before I left, it seemed that the Crusader (Amarr Interceptor) was the best for piracy of all types.
Is that still true, or what?
Thanks.

What do you plan on shooting?
Crow all around. Crusader and Taranis are good as well too. __________________________________________________

Taranis is my preferred inti for solo pirating. Crusader and Crow seem to be popular/effective as well. ----- http://evenewb.blogspot.com/

The sader can pull a good dps outside of web range, or rather nice dps within web range. However, it is missing a mid, and can only fit either a web or a scram.
A ranis I think has 3 mids, but can only do damage within web range from what I understand. But it outdamages the sader...

blaster taranis arguably since it does the most damage to break tanks, more importantly its the most fun ceptor to fly ;) -

For ganking noobs/miners/frigs blaster ranis hands down.
For being a chicken and slowing killing noobs/miners/frigs with very little risk to yourself, crow.
Crow is also alot easier to randsom in.

While the Blaster Taranis is good for high dps (for inties), it requires you to get within 10k of your target -- the dmz-zone for interceptors as you'll likely be webbed, neuted and killed in short order. Having your MWD off and orbiting helps against sig radius, but youre chances of dying (especially solo against ships with guns...) are increased tenfold.
I prefer the Rail Taranis, as I can choose my range (125mm II). For higher DPS, I can choose faction Antimatter and orbit around 6-7km away. If I find i'm being webbed or neuted, I can GTFO and switch to faction lead or iridium, giving me around a 11-12k optimal orbit. Overheating your own web can keep your target from getting close to you. And, in a pinch, I can put in Spike and keep orbit around my Warp Disrupt max around 24-25km.
With drones, I prefer Hobgoblin II's, but that's just me.
