Edited by: Rana Ash on 27/06/2008 11:49:29 It's a just a natural thing, awhile back we had a thread in which people where so helpful and nice it was a scary.
So is'nt the recent stuff more a reaction to that?, i belive newton said it best: To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Originally by: Allen Ramses Reflecting on the previous four days of forum madness, I am personally disgusted with everyone involved (including myself) for the horrible show of character. It is a farce; a travesty of human decency. Even the people who posted reasonable arguments and ideas were flamed to hell with absurdity, rhetoric, and stupidity. And instead of responding with an assertive nature, we responded with even more absurdity, rhetoric, and stupidity. The whole thing was made of epic fail.
I think we all need to take a good, hard look at our behavior over the past few days. There really is no excuse for it. It's understandable that there can and should be great differences in opinion over such a complicated subject. However, the way that everyone participated was in no way acceptable forum conduct. Instead of everyone and his brother flaming everyone else and his brother, we should have been constructive and not destructive. It really is quite sad.
Anyhow, I think Mitnal should be commended for his patience with everyone. In no way did he deserve the crap that he had to deal with, but he remained professional and did his job well... Even if he did forget to unlock my thread after he cleaned it and moved it .
I hope everyone lightens up. We are supposed to be having fun in this game, not a bitter and angry hate spewing contest.
This is the best troll I've ever seen on the eve-forums.

I'm perpetually deeply ashamed of myself. That sheep was just so damn PRETTY! ...but that's NOT what we were talking about, right?

I always giggle a little every time I hear that Eve has the 'mature' player base.

Posting an Emo post in an Emo thread about people being Emo.
Welcome to the internet, these forums are not unique in any way shape or form. All of them are full of hatefull, spitefull, egocentric children...er people.

if you haven't heard of the infamous stanford prison project. All of the people were good citizens and volunteers, and started treating each other like crap. a worthwhile read. the psychology behind the degradation of general morality is not dissimilar.
There was a similar thread where the psyclogy of the Eve player base was compared to what people would be like in the event of the collapse of civilization.
Since Eve is NOT the Real World, you have people doing exactly whatever they want, free of consequences. The only true thing of value you have in Eve is your reputation. But alts totally get around that restriction, escpecially on the forums.
All I can say is that anyone believing in the Goodness of Man is so delusional that they should be put down. Man is Evil, and only the threat of punishment or repercussions keeps them in check.

There are consequences in eve, otherwise anyone to leave a corp would rob them blind. Its actually amazing how many people don't do this considering the only sanction is social and (sometimes) in future opportunities for those characters. You can get around it all with alts. Wardecs are rarely a check on behaviour, and far more often a source of many lols
