CCP have already stated multiple times that they want spying and corp thieving (provided it stays within EULA) to be part of the game yet they make API keys which all alliances now use as a base to see all characters on that account. API keys as far as i understand it were brought in to make 3rd party programs more safe so you wouldnt have to give account details, but now they are misued to make sure you arnt an alt.
Which means its almost impossible to spy or corp thief with an alt on the same account so you have to spend more RL money which to me seems a very mixed message if they wish to support the idea. So i suggest that they make API keys character specific rather then for the account so relevant information for the 3rd party programs can still be gained.
This isnt a thread about if you like spying/corp theiving as ccp have said countless times that its allowed, its about if you agree with the misuse of API keys. Fix the API!

And? Can I please get a Titan and DD in highsec too? The frig rats there is too hard for me...

Of course they support the idea and of course API keys don't need fixing from CCP's point of view. CCP is a business after all. Want a spy ? Pay for it.

By that logic why dont we all have 1 char per account..... you want an alt... pay for it?

Its nothing to do with skill spying when api is involved removes skill as if they ask for API and push on it there is no way round it apart from paying more RL money... The point is ccp say its legal read the friggin post this isnt a thread about do you like spying/stealing or do you think its ethical its a post about do you think API keys designed for somthing else should realistically be allowed to make it more difficult? If CCP want to say no its illegal unless you use your main then i would be happy to aggree with you. Although i dont feel that it can really be considered spying if you do it with your main...

Not to mention i would like to add, doesnt matter if you dont like it or love it. MOST alliances often use spy information the all the main ones use it all the time. ( even if the average grunt doesnt know about it) so its a valid part of the game even if you think we should all go to hell.

TBH, ive always thought hellspawn was a bob spy, thats why i dont let him on our high sec mining ops , as im sure thats what hes waiting for...
