I haven't watched ANY BB this year, but I still know exactly what's going on thanks to Heatworld. LOL.

No-one forcing anyone to watch it. Just like no-one's forcing me to watch football. I don't watch football unless it's a really really big match like England vs someone in a world thingy. If I see football on telly, I just keep pressing 'up channel' on my remote and it goes away. Same can be said for those who don't like Big Brother.

The problem is that Big brother has what is known in the media business as a vortex of publicity. You simply can't escape Big Brother whether you want to or not. Here on a spaceship forum, the last refuge of the reality tv show haters you decide to come along and destroy what little the sane have left

And football? Is there any escape from that? Is there a Big Brother section at the end of the news in the mornings? No, it's sports, which in the UK seems to be 99% football. You go to work: "Hey did you see the match?" NO I DIDN'T! I don't burst in and start shouting about at work about who argued with who on BB. I accept football and those that like it, and those that REALLY like it.
Last year I was REALLY into Big Brother, this year, haven't really watched it but have still kept up-to-date by other means as per my original post in this thread. This forum channel is for basically anything. There is, at my time of writing, a football thread doing the rounds - after opening it and seeing some stuff about football that 1) I'm not gonna be interested in, and 2) I'm not going to understand anyways, I simply CLOSED the thread and moved on. Please don't slate me or the things I like just because I'm different.

Every other forum channel in this forum is for our common interest - the spaceship game. THIS forum channel is for stuff like Big Brother discussions, football, funny flash games, hurling abuse and celeb, etc etc so on and soforth. I had no intention of destroying anything, simply to share with others who have similar interests. No-ones forcing you to discuss big brother or take part in it or in any discussion about it.

Two words: The Sims. What's the point in the Sims? That makes no sense to me, despite being slightly similar to watching people in a house, lol.

I'm with The TX ... I'm not desperately interested, but, hey, you can't avoid it really, can you?
They really got a good crop of bottom feeders this year didn't they.
The producers hand pick a bunch of nutters and wierdos and put them all in stressful situations together, then seem surprised at their behaviour!

I am pretty sure that with each new series of big brother that airs, British society gets a little bit dumber.

Coincidence I think - The general public just seem to be getting dumber on the whole anyways. Lucky all us clever people can hide from the stupidity by living on the internet :-) -------------------- [Signature]

All it's gonna take is for them to pull in the wrong guy or gal one year, and for said person to go bat**** crazy with a kitchen knife while in the house.
The security in there, there's liable to be the first set of live televised murders before the guards get inside.
That aside, it's going to be amusing to see what the stupid ass show's downfall will be.

There was an American show where a Jerry Springer style character took a man / woman out to confront their cheating partner while the cheating was going on.
That ended with the show's host getting knifed on camera.

I blame all this crap on MTV's real world. I don't know what reality they're getting these people from but it certainly isn't a reasonable one.
Was talking to a friend once about some of these 'reality' shows and we brought up survivor, reason being that he and I would never be able to get on it. Why? Cause we would take over the island in a matter of days and train the local monkeys to kill the rest of the cast. But seriously, we'd probably be voted off first simply cause we'd know what the hell we're doing and be deemed a threat by the other 'skilled' survivalists.
While most shows just rank high on the Idiot factor (American Idol, A Simple brain..I mean life, Who wants to marry a farmer) there are those that rank low on the morals factor. One I remember pretty clearly that didn't last long was called something like fantasy island where 8 newly-wed couples went to this island with a ton of singles and the point was to prove their faith by resisting these singles. Another I currently hate is that lie detector one.
Having said all that though there is one I like to watch occasionaly and that is Hell's Kitchen. Chef Ramsey is fun to watch as he screams at the cast.

I came up with an idea for a reality show called "Celebrity Chef Slap".
You get a smallish Russian ex-Spetnaz special forces soldier and put him in a kitchen as some lowly trainee chef.
Then when the chef (Ramsay or whoever) bullies him and shouts at him as he no doubt will, the guy breaks all of the chef's limbs in 50 amusing ways.
I'd pay to watch it.
