Hi Everyone!
I'm finally (almost) able to fly a covops for exploration. I have a Drake I want to fit for clearing the riff-raff and doing the actual work in the sites. Right now, I'm going to target Arch/Hacking/Salvage sites in all space (Hi/Lo/.0). Can anyone recommend a setup?

I saw these, thanks. What I was really asking is: can I fit a codebreaker/salvager/tractorbeam to this drake without getting pwned at a site by rats?
Can I kill the rats, re-fit and return without the site de-spawning? For these sites are salvaging/hacking the triggers to de-spawn or is it killing the ships?

I do exploration in low sec, 0.2-0.4. Use cov-ops for finding sites then I use a drake to loot site.
Why a drake? It's cheap and is no big loss if you get ganked by pirates.

scanalyzer/codebreaker/archeology etc..
10mn AB
2 x Invul II
2 LSE II
lows:
2 x PDU II, 2 x CPR II
Easily tanks any low sec radar, magnometric site. Keep an eye on local, never really had any trouble.

I was under the impression that by now, everyone knew how to fit a drake to *****(eh wait, tank NPCS) into oblivion...

I've been messing with setups and it almost seems like the drake is equal in power to the raven... are my eyes just not able to see currently or this true? I see the 200-300DPS loss but holy cow at the tank...

without that dps you have to tank a lot, lot longer, the raven just kills everything and actually has a higher peak tank :P

drake is not so good for this stuff, it has very low dps if you want to tank all the rats in site and make a good tank, so it will take you forever in doing it.

That's the whole point of a Drake Tank. It tanks really well then you bring in another ship (if you have one) to kill everything in comparative safety. My Drake is mostly used in a supportive tank role & very rarely as a primary damage dealer. |
