I killed a nightmare after nicking his loot in hi sec. He had a gyro stab fitted with faction tachyons. Tried to ransom but he say he only had 200mil and logged off so I regretably had to murder him.
It was ment to be my next grief video but I didnt have fraps running. Got a screeny somewhere if i can find out how to post it.
Thread will go south fast I feel.

That dude is a noob, everyone knows nightmares are supposed to fit tachyons with faction gyros, the other way around is just absurd.

I was trying to do this today with a probe and snoop's but the best I could manage was stealing t1 drones in a save spot from some guy who crashed, teach me how o' mighty planks

The issue is getting within 4AU in first place. |

Just select ships and drones when you scan with them if you're in 4au. Compare the sensor strengths with normal probes and you'll see what he means

The word you are looking for is Quest.
The issue is getting within 4AU in first place.
You can do several lvl1 kill missions to get some bookmarks. And later make some mid-warp bookmarks to fill the uncovered space. Covering most of the system with quests is one way to do it - it gives me decent results when I'm bored and not looking for anyone specific.
For finding alternatives to motsu and other well-known mission hubs eve-agents and the ingame map help a lot. |

Yer I use the 4AU quest scan probes to hunt mission runners in high sec. Got me 2 raven kills by doing the same loot steal trick.

they usually warp out and turn down the mission when I do it 
although I did aggro everything and then bump a cnr to death, he dropped some cn launchers  |
